Araya, what do you seek?
「アラヤ、何を求める」

Araya, where do you seek it?「アラヤ、何処に求める」
Only within myself.「――――ただ、己が内にのみ」
Araya, what is your favorite color?「アラヤ、好きな色は?」
Blue. No, ora-- Auuuuuuuugh!「青、いや、オレンジイイイイイアアアっ!」
I think the problems with the current translation are
1) doesn't flow well
2) mistakes that seem to have come from the Chinese translation (I caught a couple really silly mistakes but I didn't really go over it thoroughly)
A rewrite could fix the first but wouldn't do much for the second, unless someone was to check it against the original text.
I'm still here. Just not translating anymore because there are more Japanese translator here nowadays.
You know, I actually totally agree with going through all of F/Z translation again. Now I read what I wrote back then, and I cringe. The English was............................................... .... yeah *hides*
That being said, how much leeway should we give? I was really hoping some Japanese translator would go through the F/Z translation while having the Jap original to compare against?
And if you ever miss me, give me a VM![]()

So, any objections to me actually going ahead with this? I made a thing, by the way. It's just my project start, and I made it clear that I had no authority from you guys, but still, it's an example of what I'll be doing on my own.

@Brynhilde
Now we are living 21st century, however you should not use "Jap" in this international community. I know it is no meaning of disparaging words in Australia, but NATIVE JAPANESE HATE THIS ABBREVIATION. If you still using this word, I am going to you handle as a racist. do you understand what I said?

For him, it was probably an expression of intense surprise: his face just went utterly still.

While I can understand your feelings, in this context it was used as shorthand for "the Japanese language" not "a Japanese person".

Now that we are living in the 21st century, you clearly know that most other speakers, especially when they use the full name otherwise, do not mean it as an insult. If you still perceive it as an insult, that is fine, but saying something that implies they're racist for making such a comment can be just as bad.

Arashi condones racism.

どうかどうか、それを覚えていてください。

I would really prefer an English editor to sit down with someone who can translate the original Japanese. Like Koto said, a lot of mistakes were probably carried over with the translation and a simple 'clean up' won't fix that.
Totally understand what you mean, Arashi, in terms of reading F/z.
I will have a read at the tumblr page once I get to work. On my phone atm.
@Ossan99: I have met some very rude Japanese international students in Australia and have always considered them exceptions from the kind, courteous Japanese people. Thank you for shattering my illusion. You have taught me courtesy is no longer commonly practiced, nor is respect towards foreigners.
I have nothing else to add because, due to how strong and incorrect your assumptions were, your post sounded more racist than mine,

In Literary style, for example "Eng->Jap translation" used normaly without any bad meaning. However, these 3characters feel bad by my side because spell is same at all of usecase of discrimination. Which is better, using such abbreviation words to be misunderstood or not using words to be misunderstood?

First of all, you should know your country's media what called Japanese.
Spoiler:
This post was 2008. 21st century.
I have no time this morning at this moment.

First of all, know that generalising all people of the same nationality under the same banner is the root of racism.
I also have no time this morning and this thread is for the translation anyways.
Reported.

I'd be very glad if I could actually get someone who could translate from the Japanese for me, just so we can be a two-man team - I could be the editor. Then it can be a proper re-translation. Sticking to two people might actually keep the translation more cohesive, and it would definitely be more accurate.![]()
Examples of my English style are in the tumblr link in my last post. I'd be really grateful if someone stepped forward.
@All EXCEPT Brynhilde
Brynhilde said these:
>I have met some very rude Japanese international students in Australia and have always considered them exceptions from the kind,
>courteous Japanese people. Thank you for shattering my illusion.
It looks like Brynhilde claims Japanese people(include me) are rude.
Question 1: Are Japanese people rude? When you met/worked with Japanese, did you feel "Japanese is rude"?
>You have taught me courtesy is no longer commonly practiced, nor is respect towards foreigners.
It looks like Brynhilde claims no respect toward foregners.
Question 2: Should we no respect towards foreigners in this community?
If my last post to Brynhilde #187 has wrong points(for example, rudeness points), Brynhilde SHOULD DESCRIBE WHICH POINTS ARE WRONG before bashing Japanese people and me.
An american said about some Australians,Australian media. What do you think?

If your claim is fact, is it correct such thing open via media like Australian Daily Telegraph? Do you agree such racism from Australia to Japan with a word of "Japs"? I was learned at western company, keep silence(no reply) is agree.
