Bad weather is continuing to hamper rescue efforts in Northern India.

A helicopter returning from a rescue mission has crashed, killing eight people on board. The aircraft hit the side of a mountain near the northern town of Kedarnath. A spokesman for the Indian Air Force confirmed that bad weather and poor visibility meant other aircrafts weren't taking off.

Soldiers have rescued around 90,000 people, although officials say 5,000 still remain stranded. More than 800 have died in the flooding so far. Officials fear the death toll could rise as more bodies are recovered from remote areas.

Interesting words: hamper (make difficult to do something), stranded (left without help), death toll (number of deaths).
