I can't wait to see that fucker get away after screwing over everybody's lives and then bringing down the Galactic Alliance in his never ending quest for power as he uses Ledo's one exit opportunity for himself, leaving Ledo with nobody to blame but himself.

Yes.

Kugel's is more advanced and directly connected to the Galactic Alliance's central computers. By activating, it brings the Galactic Alliance and a large Hideauze force both en route to Earth.

There are six levels of power to the robots:
Green, yellow, black, red, blue and custom. Chamber is a "Midlevel Model."

I would agree but he's doing it purely for personal reasons rather than financial gain.

It just seems like getting all that loot was just a bonus for him, getting Ledo to kill the squids was just his main objective.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if that leads him to more greed down the road.

I see where you're going there except Ledo isn't a simple weapon that can be used.
Although Chamber did mention that he can be controlled if Ledo gives that person command, so you never know.

But I see where you're going with the potencial autocratic leadership turning into a dictatorship.

But then again, his main use for it has only been for personal reasons against the squid.
You would need something major , say the pirates attacking again, for Pinion to get some sort of change of hear, say him getting greedy and deciding to kill every single pirate in the world by using Ledo, to get him down the path of hell.

I see a lot of potential in this sort of story but fuck it anyways.

Well shit.
Now their going to rationalize their use for it and it'll slowly go into the cognitive dissonance of them using on squids, then pirates, then invade other ships for their own gain.

Well fuck me.
But I doubt they can pull of that in less than 3 episodes.

This setting has a lot of potencial storytelling but it is wasted on SoL shit.
Oh well.
Maybe if it had more seasons to tell a full arching story or something.

That's like a soldier going to iraq accidently killing a kid when he finds out their just kids like any other.

Saying ''oh well they caused 9/11'' is not really excusing the ontological representation of the Hideous.

It's not what they did but what they represent that got Ledo so fucked up.

Actually, people who attacked the Evolvers were the one's who started.
The Alliance most likely continued that fight and the Hideous fought back naturally.

Years later, everyone forgot the purpose of the fight and the Alliance rationalize their purpose by saying the Hideous is ''bellow them''.

It fits and no one is to blame.
Both sides are in a war that neither can remember the source, it's not that original.

What? They became squids, it's over, they can go into space. They don't need anything other that their new body to survive in space. They feed through photosynthesis shit. They don't need any means of transportation.

And if they were so dumb that they couldn't get their priorities right, it's their own problem. Meanwhile, the Alliance developped its wormhole drive and was ready to abandon the war to be in peace.

One side was willing to withdraw after a long drawn out war which both sides have traded punches.

The squids justification for following them wasn't retribution, they didn't rant about vengeance, restoring honour and all that. It was clearly stated that they didn't want to be "left behind", even though they could have left.

Chamber is no longer bound by alliance standards and has somehow developed a will of his own. I doubt he is evil. He actually gave Ledo a pretty solid reason to keep killing the squids. There will always be conflict between the humans and squids. If one wants to advance the other needs to die.

True, I agree with you that it is very likely that the Alliance attacked them due to unethical human experimentation, and that guy was just the posterboy for everything being okay.

I can buy that the Alliance attacked the facility for those reasons rather than ''hurrr you can't do those experiments, it's against nature!!''

Because those video did seem to show that.

Although the videos were found at the facility, so there is a good chance those are propaganda videos that are not giving both sides the full story, especially since that video was more lenient towards the Evolvers being the victims.

You might be onto something.

It’s tough being prophetic. Filling out this weekend’s theme, we have yet another maudlin, flashback laden episode, although if you cut out all the pointless nonsense centering on side characters pissing about, then it’d just be about five minutes long and mostly Red staring at his hands in terror, wracked by the horrible weight of the guilt of… killing monsters trying to kill him and all his friends? Wait, no. He’d need a personality before having motivations, especially after not a couple episodes prior using the whole good soldier and orders uber alles for squid muderizing purposes. Killing things that centuries ago ago were humans? No… Can’t be it either. He was still complaining about being NOT able to kill more pirates after obliterating an entire ship of them and all he did between then and now was look at some tits. Wasting a good squid meal? Yeah. That’s probably what they were going for. Oh the horror and tragedy.

The cliffhanger was the only thing of note as it introduced what will no doubtedly be the last boss, that someone else fell through the magical space hole and instead of making ocarinas, staring at tits, and being molested by drag queens, established a squid killing cult… and probably also looked at tits. Way to underachieve, Red.

They obviously couldn't actually leave for some reason or another, or they would have done so themselves.
There was something pressing about the situation on Earth that precluded them from having the time to develop a method for interstellar travel.

But forget the squid for a second, because if we're discussing the morality of each organization then it needs to be stated that the Alliance was willing to destroy the gate behind them for no good reason. Leaving the vast majority of humanity, evolvers included, behind.

no where did they say the union wanted to spread across the galaxy. the union wanted to just live in space because the earth was turning into an iceball. they were content with living in orbit, but the squids were the ones who wanted to spread their influence. the alliance was just running.

Except their justification wasn't retribution, as I said in my post, go reread it. Plus, they could have gone to space in some other direction, EARLIER than the Alliance.

Let me draw this out. First, they want to go to space. Second, their space-squid development has already been completed. Therefore they can go to space already. Third, if they can already go to space, they don't need to take the wormhole "or else they'll be left behind". But that was their whole justification for taking the wormhole, to be not left behind, it wasn't "let's fuck them over for screwing with us"

So they had no reasonable justification to follow the alliance through the wormhole.

Do I have to say
>How do I into reading comprehension?

The gargantians didn't tell him to not kill humans no matter what, only if it can be avoided. while this applies to the whalesquids massacre, it has nothing to do with the hideauzes as they are even stronger than machine calibers

They obviously can't.
You are absolutely right, if they had the capacity to leave the Earth then obviously they would have, since they jumped at the chance and fought the Alliance tooth and nail to get through the gate before it self destructed. So why didn't they?
For whatever reason, whatever was missing, they could not safely leave the solar system as they were. It's the only logical explanation.

How do you "stop one from reaching space"? Squids were EVOLVED to withstand the sheer mindboggling, yes, mindboggling distance between stars. They also didn't need to go to any other stars because they are capable of photosynthesis. They can survive in stellar space just fine. The CU on the other hand needs to find another Terran world. Which they didn't, and had to make a spaceborne civilization.

No, because the whole issue to the wormhole runs directly counter to what the Evolvers were talking about themselves. No indication that something went wrong or they had trouble or whatever. That's the thing.

And I doubt the mechanics behind Evolvers in space is going to be explored much more after this because the story isn't about that. We just need to know that both the GA and the Evolvers share some measure of blame for the current fucked up system.

The squid emperor doesn't necessarily have to be telling the truth about the reasons for attacking them, we have no idea how intelligent the average squid was at that time.

Even if they are long lived enough to travel from system to system, the time it would take would be in the hundreds of thousands of years. They may consider the union a force that had to be killed before they could rule the galaxy.Maybe because If they left them alone they may come back more powerful than the squids as the squids rely on evolution instead of tech.

Cruel Angel's Thesis wasn't very "happy" not like Garganita's opening which is typical bubbly Jpop.

but the squids have no need to travel to another star system. they can camp out in the solar system, increase their numbers, build a blossom sail, all right here with the benefit of claiming earth when it thaws. why do they need a wormhole or to travel to other star systems?

This show would have been a million times better if it was just about Ledo learning love from three delicious brown girls.

It's gotten progressively worse since episode 2.

They were both fighting in space already. Therefore squids were space capable already. Their biology allows them to sustain themselves in solar space. They could also go away earlier without the wormhole. The CU on the other hand wants to find a Terran world. In other words, the Evolvers most reasonable course of action would either be dominating the solar system while their enemies look for a planet they'll most likely never find, or go off with their own means which they have already developed. Nothing is stopping them from doing either of those two alternatives.

Using the wormhole however has many costs. First, it's not theirs, can they fully control it to their will or just follow along its set path, second CU will be in the way. There's no guarantee what's on the other side.

I think that Pinion's greed goes far beyond enriching himself. He wants humanity to progress. Being filthy rich is just a bonus.
That and his main drive is still revenge.

So in short, you're admitting that the Evolvers are responsible for turning this into n endless war of genocide and that the Alliance is justified in fighting back because their attempt at leaving the conflict behind was hijacked by murderous space monsters?

Cool. We all agree.
