Aikatsu is great. The best part of it is the school SoL. It has no conflict like in Love Live and the girls aren't as loud as a lot of the Precures, but the girls and their interactions are very entertaining and cute.

Also, they vary the music more later in the series so don't worry about that.

Threads that are only about Aikatsu don't last very long and get few posts, unlike Precure. So I can see why they'd want to hop on it. I don't mind either except that it might summon a certain tripfag (not like Hexer, this guy is an awful tripfag) to visit, and that I wouldn't be too happy with that.

Regina is still the most likely candidate for Ace. They've been hinting at that more too, with the red eyes and such.

I don't see that as anything other than a red herring. Ace is a dead ringer for Ange, but with red hair. Regina would have to change her entire facial structure, her height, and her body size during her transformation in order to even begin to resemble her.

Similar changes have been done in the past, as we've discussed before. So no, I don't think that should rule her out. The fact is, no one on the show resembles Ace perfectly. So no matter who it is, they'll have to magically change their appearance.

To this degree? I certainly can't think of any. You can always see the untransformed resemblance in every single Cure, and there's no resemblance at all to Regina. Meanwhile, there's an incredibly obvious resemblance to Ange.

Yes, Hikari was actually the Queen. Setsuna changed eye, hair color and hair length and type (straight to wavy) not only from civilian but from one magical form to the next one. And pic related, and no, the costume and stilts isn't enough to explain why there was a huge difference in height, boobs, longer arms, etc.

The difference between Ace and Ange is not any more significant. And like I said, no one on the show resembles Ace perfectly anyway so someone is going to have to magically change their appearance.

Hikari wasn't the Queen, she was PART of the queen. Shiny Luminous looks just like her. And even with all of Setsuna's changes, you can clearly see that it's Setsuna as Passion. The facial structure remains the same. As for Muse, that's a DISGUISE - if you could tell it was her so easily it would be a pretty shoddy one. The stilettos DO explain the height, and the costume could easily have fake bumps made to resemble breasts. And I don't know if you've looked much at Ako's design, but her arms are pretty freaking long for her height.

We've gone through this, Fresh had extremely similar facial structure throughout, so it made no difference. We already agreed that eye and hair color can change. You seem incapable of believing that holy shit, Scamco might actually slightly alter a physical face structure and body size after pulling all the other stunts they have in the past.

The point of why I brought up Hikari and Ako is to show that Scamco is capable of using magical AND non-magical ways of one person appearing like a completely different person. And they are perfectly capable of doing that again.

None of those instances had examples of someone else looking just like her. If I could find a good body shot of Ange I'd point out just how many similarities there are in their designs - from the overall shape of her hair to the heart on her chest (which we only saw in the recent episode) that happens to look exactly like the heart on Ace's chest only a different colour.

For Cure Muse, they had people who looked like a much better fit than Ako did at the time. Going with the more obvious person isn't always the smartest thing when it comes to Toei. And they constantly do new things each season. Each deception has been different from another. It's never been exactly the same.

Listing them off, spoilering for big reveals if you haven't watched that season.
Max Heart - Hikari is actually the Queen
SS - First and only time different people had the same Cure named form.
GoGo - First mascot becomes Precure
Fresh - First time civilian has not one, but two different looking magical forms (eye hair etc diff)
HC - First mascot that turned into a magical fighter mimicing the appearance of another human and first Grandmother that turned into a teenager as Cure.
Suite - The mature form of Cure Muse is actually an elementary-aged girl.
Smile - Candy has a princess human form.

Prior to Smile, all of these were unprecedented and except for Smile, noticeably different from prior season reveals. I should have mentioned Cure Flower. That's a really good example of how a civilian can look quite different in Cure form.

Nah, she was still smaller than the other girls, and she was in high heels. Also her "breasts" were just part of the costume, not real ones.
She was the same Ako in a crafty outfit that made her look older.

Aikatsu is good once you get past the terrible CG henshin and dance in the beginning. That improves later on, gets closer to Love Live. And you should really finish Idolm@ster. Ep. 20 is when it hits you like a load of bricks, making it the best idol series, in my opinion.

Not a massive difference but I'd say it's "noticeably" different. Especially sine The Royal Queen actually dies and stays dead. Leaving Candy as the new monarch whereas Hikari ends up as a normal girl.

Commie's just the seasonal subber. Seasonal subbers are notorious for getting late or dropping Precure subs later on in the season. Plus Commie's known for putting in retarded memes and stupid jokes in their subs, though it doesn't seem like it's been a problem with Precure.
Doremi has been around and proven reliable to stick it through and be somewhat consistent in their releases. Curecom, well, they're consistently late but they do finish, eventually.

The kids shows that air in the mornings like Saint Seiya, Battle Spirits, Precure, the toku series, the shounen adaptations (Toriko, One Piece, HxH, etc.). They're not made to sell DVDs. They're made for television ratings or to usually sell some kind of toys or both. Nobody really cares about the disc sales of those because they have significantly more things that contribute to the franchise going on.

Before HC aired, people said it looked like it was being animated in Flash.

There was an image about it too. A collection of posts from when Fresh was ending about how HC was going to be like this big disappointment and looked ugly in the promo art and shit.

Actually it happened sort of recently, when he fought that one goblin phantom.

And he knew where he was anyways. Plus, it's more effective if he uses Falco or Buffa, since most of the Phantoms are physical now.

After watching the last ep., I'm convinced some of it now is the amount of screen time. The storytelling takes up so much of it, I think the fight was shorter. Course it was their decision to go with Mana flexing or whatever than adding punches and kicks, but it still seems like they don't have time and budget to squeeze in a fantastic fight.

Anyway, pretty sure Doki is going to be known as the season you watch for the plot.

Rikka isn't much of the physical type, Alice is obviously defense (but won't go physical unless she absolutely needs to) and Makoto is the veteran of the team with the most experience. Most of the hand-to-hand combat has been given to her.

Yeah, Makopi is the closest to it, yet her fight style is still more brains than brawn. Like how she decoupled the train cars so Mana could throw it. It's like when she fooled Bell by bouncing her attack off a mirror and caught him off-guard. All the girls fight more with brains than brawn.

What's bad though is when there's something that we really don't like in a series. While a person watches something alone he would let it go, but watching it together it will just resonate our anger, and it's no fun to watch it anymore.
That doesn't happen often though, but there were examples.

Watching Smile while talking about its silliness made it a really good experience for one. But that's true for most Precure series.

I kind of doubt that a show with Precure's format and tone would actually go there. The most you'd get is someone like Yuri (or Ako) who is kind of bitchy and spiteful but eventually comes around. Pretty unlikely to even get someone like the jerks in pic related.

Which is strange because I've spent more time with Precure than with Im@s, yet there are already 6 dreams I remembered having with them.
4 of them was with Yayoi (not Kise, but Takatsuki), the most recent one was today. Which is strange since I haven't been doing anything Im@s related lately.
the dream involved ME being Yayoi, and was playing a mix of american football/soccer against some random people, and there was a giant enemy who I was very afraid would come at me and kill me, but it didn't happen

I would like for her to have gotten a proper focus episode that wasn't all about her being Cure Moonlight. I think there are enough similarities in how they think and feel that Tsubomi is able to intuitively understand what Yuri's deal is, and connect with her on a level that the other characters can't.

They definitely have differences that go beyond their circumstances, but they're also the same in more ways than might be immediately apparent.

My guess is the reason they don't do it is little girls see themselves as Precure...so they don't want their moms to be as cool or cooler than them. -Sentai gets V-Cinemas
-Rider gets those Net Movies that
-One Piece gets those special episode OVAs
-I don't think Toriko has something that like that but it did have that crossover with One Piece (and the one with DBZ and One Piece)

Anyway, they're usually made for comedy or fun. It feels like they would want to capitalize on that.

The superman and batman thing also fits because Ace's power is implied to one-shot a monster that the others didn't manage to defeat with their combined powers.

You know, I'd be disappointed if Doki writing staff didn't give us a real surprise. Past seasons have done a pretty good job of that and so I'd expect more from Doki. It should be something really left field but with just enough foreshadowing to make it clear in retrospect.
