DNA will identify father of captive’s child

Her timidly smiling face has been beamed across the globe. Now police have confirmed that Jocelyn, 6, is probably the child of one of the three men accused of kidnapping her mother and two other young women.

Amanda Berry gave birth to Jocelyn in captivity. After her escape on Monday night from the only home she had known, police said that Jocelyn seemed cheerful.

“She looks great, happy, healthy and ate a popsicle last night,” said Ed Tomba, Cleveland’s Deputy Police chief. Seeing her mother smile made her smile, he added. An FBI agent said that the little girl was
