Beautiful baby giraffe - level 3

Meet the latest resident at Los Angeles Zoo, baby Sofie. This little giraffe was born just two weeks ago and already stands at six-feet tall. Sofie is the first baby for the zoo's female Masai giraffe and the family made their debut public appearance on Friday.

The Masai species of giraffe is found in East Africa, mostly Southern Kenya and Northern Tanzania. All giraffe populations throughout Africa are under threat and numbers are declining because they're being poached for meat.

Mum and baby Sofie can now be seen daily during zoo hours.
