A shopkeeper in London’s been held a hero after fighting off an armed robber with a wooden stool.

CCTV captured this man fending off an attempted theft after a robber entered his shop and fired two warning shots into the air. The gunman Sheldon Green was jailed last week after admitting nine similar robberies and firearm charges. He said he raided stores to pay off debts to local drug gangs.

The have-a-go hero and father of two said, "I didn't want to give him the money so I picked up the stool and hit him with it."
