DotWell, Dorchester FAMILY School Initiative(DFSI) Boston Marathon Fundraiser

We have five runners who will participate in the Boston Marathon race and fundraising efforts. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to David Cawley, David Jesser, Erika Pearson, Christy Roush  and Gwendolyn Stewart. They are all enthusiastic about raising much needed funds to support our Dorchester FAMILY School Initiative (DFSI), a partnership that supports three schools in the Codman Square area, the Joseph Lee Elementary, Lee Academy Pilot School and the Oliver W. Holmes.

Meet our runners: David Jesser (Teacher, Joseph E. Lee Elementary School); David Cawley (Manager, The Blarney Stone Restaurant); Gwendolyn Stewart ( Avid runner); Christy Roush (Avid runner); Erika Pearson (Avid runner and athlete).

On Thursday, March 28, 7:30pm our runners will participate in a fundraiser that get us over the finish line. Please come out and support us at The Blarney Stone Restaurant (1505 Dorchester Ave) in Fields Corner. Food is free, however, we are asking for donations at the door. All efforts will suport the DFSI schools.

Through Crowdrise, a fundraising platform created for donors to the Boston Marathon, we have a link below that can be used to support DFSI and the team.  Pages for the runners and schools are also be created for those who want to support individual participants. Thank you for your interest in DFSI and our marathon team!

Fiscal Health Vital Signs

Fiscal Health Vital Signs (FHVS) is a tool developed and used by DotWell to “diagnose” an individual’s fiscal health.  This tool was assembled from extensive experience training, coaching, and developing effective financial interventions for low to moderate income households.  Further, just as in the clinical setting where those with chronic disease are assisted in managing their condition, those with chronic fiscal health problems diagnosed by the FHVS tool receive a financial wellness plan and on-going coaching.  Through the FHVS program, a fiscal health case manager evaluates a client, “prescribes” specific actions that will improve their fiscal health, and develops a “treatment plan” to help clients stay in track.
