Mountain lion in the street - level 3

A big cat in the backyard may not seem like a good reason to call the emergency services. However, one resident in Glendale was totally justified in calling Californian police after spotting this mountain lion.

To the rescue came the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Wardens tranquillized the animal and moved it into a pickup truck.

The male, weighing 125 pounds (56.7 kilos) will be returned to the mountains of the Angeles National Forest.

Mountain lions are common in California but luckily for the residents of Glendale attacks are rare.

Interesting words: warden (person who makes sure the rules of some place are kept), tranquillize (put to sleep).
