not trying to be cynical but i doubt any of the more recent japanese models, c-41's japan, gauken taiwan, or mkmk's germany and prussia, will ever be released to us. after all the drama the japanese community hates us with a passion, and frankly i don't blame them. i think the best thing to do is become more self reliant, start encouraging making your own models instead of just edits. even if they don't start out good they will get better as people learn more. as for the various facecrap groups, (there's several of them, EITC is just the most prominent) i don't think there's much that can be done unless the people in charge of facefail decide to suddenly care about anything other than profit. we can also hope the groups collapse in on themselves somehow.
in all honesty I'm not too confident that they would release their models for the English community either. of course they hate us. in fact, I'd be surprised if they don't. maybe. but really, when it comes to modelling, I see it as the Koreans and starcraft analogy. a friend told me once "You've never played starcraft? oh well, you're automatically gonna be good at it because you're Korean." they're Japanese, so they're automatically going to be good at modelling. this is obviously untrue, but it seems somewhat accurate.
i think part of why they always seem to do a good job is that they work for a very long time developing the skills to do the modeling, making the textures, and everything else that goes into it. there are several modellers that started out kinda so-so, but have gradually become amazing. nanami went from somewhat odd looking models that didn't even have physics, to, well just look at them now! and roco, went from making 3dcg mods to the amazingly textured well modeled models he/she makes nowadays. i truly think it's just a matter of putting hard work into something.
I know... that crossword... I've been working on it for weeks and haven't finished half of it yet not even my Japanese teachers know what it's talking about, and that's probably saying something ;n;
