当社が英国に日本食レストランを出店するとの報道がなされておりますが、正確を期するために、以下に事実関係をご説明させて頂きます。

菊乃井主人である村田吉弘は、英国法人Hakkasan Limitedとの間で、英国において日本食レストランを運営する合弁会社を設立することについて基本合意いたしました。最終的な合弁契約については現在協議中ですが、これが締結された場合には、まずロンドンに第一号店舗を開設することが予定されております。

この合弁契約については、村田吉弘個人が直接又は別の法人を通じて間接的に当事者となることが予定されており、当社自体が当事者となる予定はありません。また、レストランを運営するのはHakkasanとの合弁会社であり、当社ではございません。合弁会社が開設するレストランにおいて、当店出身の料理人が調理を行う可能性はございますが、合弁会社への出資やコンサルティングは、当社ではなく村田吉弘がその個人の責任で行うものであります。

We, Kikunoi, would like to provide some clarification regarding recent media reports on Kikunoi’s launch of Japanese restaurants in the UK.

Mr. Yoshihiro Murata, the Head Chef of Kikunoi, has entered into a basic agreement with Hakkasan Limited, a UK company, regarding the formation of a joint venture company which will operate　Japanese restaurants in the UK.  A definitive agreement is currently under negotiation and, if it is successfully concluded, it is planned that the first restaurant will open in London.

Please note, however, that this joint venture agreement will be entered into by Mr. Murata in his personal capacity (whether directly or indirectly through a separate entity) and that Kikunoi itself will not be a party to the agreement.  The new restaurants will be operated by the joint venture company, and not by Kikunoi.  While some of Kikunoi’s existing chefs may work for the new restaurants operated by the joint venture company, the investment in the joint venture company and the provision of consulting services to the joint venture company will be conducted by Mr. Murata in his personal capacity.
