The difference between distribution of a model and testing of a model.
I recently saw Iamdeathbegone's little rant about memebers of the Hetabreakrules group, and she said that, if there is a community it automaticly means it's for testing.
Can anyone point to a place where the modellers say outright that it's a testing community?
Roco, Usapon, Q_ku, Mkmk_no_hito, C41, they all have communities.
Roco and Usapon just have the links and password hints and all that in the community. Mkmk and Q_Ku, you have to send a E-mail or ask on Twitter. C41 you get the hint in the community, send a E-mail to C41 and there you go.
But have any of them ever said that it was testing. Sure alot of the models are incomplete, but models are always updated whenever it is in a community or not. Testing goes on forever with a model.
Roco's community and Usapon's take in almost everyone as long as they speak Japanese. Does that mean every Japanese person is testing? Seems a bit big for just a prototype of a model.
I think we need a better way to say all of this.
The model isn't exactly testing, it's given out to a select group of people. And it can't be guaranteed that they will be distributed later to the public. This haven't happend yet, we can't expect it to happen. And even if a modeller stated this it has yet to be done.
And on the subject of Racism, I'll get into that on another day.
What I want to say is that it's not exactly testing per say. It's a limited distribution of a incomplete model. People are making videos and pictures with these models, not giving reports to the modeller whats wrong with them. It's a limited distribution.
*go outro music!*
But I speak decent Japanese. Roco and C41 both declined my community requests because I'm Korean. FYI, my answer to C41's crossword was correct. She declined anyway.
I don't believe all communities are for testing. I am a member of MkMknoHito's and 2pc's community, but they're set to "automatically approve applications." They're obviously not dumb enough to put password hints on the bulletin board if the community is set like such. I sent MkMknoHito an email asking for her Germany and Prussia models and s/he still hasn't responded. 2pc was reasonable enough to allow me test out her Fem!Italy, though.
I don't believe Q_ku has a community; her Belarus and Ukraine models are still downloadable for the Western public.
As for Usapon and Ryth, they still haven't responded to my community requests, but I'm more than positive they'll reject me anyway because I'm not Japanese, like I stated before. It may or may not be a racism issue, if they won't trust anybody who is not Japanese.
Im not sure about the Korean part, but I know the tensions between Korea and Japan. I won't say that was fair, it was actually very unfair. I mostly said almost anyone because in a few of the comunities there are over 600 members. Which is alot, for a community for models.
And I know that not all the communities aren't for distributin the model, Mkmk_no_hito and 2pc, im a part of their communities too so I understand what you're talking about. 2pc, I know that was a test model(the Fem!Italy) because when she gave it out it was for testing. So thats one of the few that counts for that. They are the ones that needs to be sent a E-mail or ask on Twitter.
Q_ku has a community, but not exactly for distribution, it's where she put the information of her models(And all the link to the articles on Buromanga). It's a open community so everyone can join it. I pointed that one out because it's another example that it's not a testing community. And most of her models except Maria Theresa, Fem! Austria and Prussia are still for public download. The ones I mention are the ones you have to send a E-mail to get. And of course her clothing kits.
Usapon has made a community just for distributing her models to a limited number. Usapon said on their DA that they would only distribute to Japanese(or Japanese speakers) from now on, because of the rule breaking.
Ryth.. I don't know much about. I knwo you have to ask them on Twitter, but more than that I didn't really know.
C41, is a special case. I think they are still very bitter because of the misunderstanding. They really only wish to distribute to Japanese. I'll be actually very suprised if they let any non-Japanese in their communtiy.
And I actually wrote alittle bit about that in my other journal for why the Japanese take the rules so seriously. I think it's a big cultural issue(Although with the racism, I still have my thoughts on that). They think that Japanese are the easiest to trust so they go the easy way. Is what I think.
Honestly, I don't give a damn anymore on gaining new models - I follow the rules even if they're dumb as hell so I don't piss off anyone, but really, my own patience is driving thin with both ends.
But, yes - Usapon and q_ku are definitely NOT testing: Usapon released a Nyo!Russia along with her 2P self that was explicitly said that it was only for her community. q_ku hasn't made anything interesting yet after Ukraine and Belarus, but she's mentioned that they're downloadable if you're part of her community. C41 has left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth from that one NiTai hug drama incident, so I won't expand on that.
But, I believe that both sides need to learn to grow up and get over themselves.
For people who break the rules: they're not your models. It's like being given a beautiful, antique doll - you don't play around with it roughly, you take care of it with a lot of care, because I don't think the creator would appreciate you running through the dirt with a gorgeous piece of work he worked his ass off on. You need to be patient, give the modellers time, and try to have some understanding of what they want, as well as doing things fairly, and only ask help privately; NOT in public! Also, stop testing the modellers' patience! They have snapping points; Roco proved this when some idiot leaked the password for a test Russia model, so as a result - no France model for you lot!
For the modellers and any potential modellers: you need to learn to to be more open-minded</b>. Some rules are far too strict, and may I ask? Why only Japanese? Why does only your community get the privilege to edit and engage these lovely works in gestures of affection? Do you think we're incapable of taking care of a piece of art? Or are you seriously going to let a few bad apples in the basket affect your perception on the whole, so you end up turning your noses at the perfectly ripe ones? It's clear to see as well that the rule that most people are hurt over is the "no love" rule in Usapon's, q_ku's and C41's models. You should realize by now that a lot of the fans of any series - just pick one - are made up of shippers; yaoi, yuri and hetero. It's like telling someone who likes a certain shipping that you don't like them because they like that. Also, how do some people even know that certain gestures are taken as love? A hug for example, can cause such a huge melodrama - seriously? I've seen boys hug each other; one time I saw a guy friend carry his friend bridal style (Which was hilarious as hell XD). Again; be more open-minded about it! Also, don't just tell them to put down the artwork - ASK</b> the artist if it's romance, if it is; then fine, tell them politely to take it down. IF it's not, leave it alone and get over it. That saying so, I understand that things work much more differently in Japan compared to other parts of the world, so if it's some traditional thing to not hug and touch, then fine. But keep in mind, though - that you shouldn't cause a drama about it, either.
I'm done with my rant now - I honestly feel much better now. XD (I was pissed off earlier, so...sorry if I lugged it out, but I really had to get this out of my system; I've kept it pent up for too long...

Those models are being tested. Since their incomplete and Roco is putting out pictures, it's safe to say that they are being worked on. Just not tested in a community.
The way the models are being distributed is in a subject of itself, im not planning on touching on that one just yet. But yes, their not being tested.
For the people who break the rules, it honeslty depends on the person. I've broen rules, but specific ones where I feel that it didn't really matter as much. For example the Hana rules. I edited the model, but I didn't edit it into something nasty or horrible. I changed the outfit of the model. It's what people in Japan are doing and it's not exactly causing any harm. So I don't see why it needs to be such a big deal. I don't wish to edit France into my bitch, I keep it in a common sense line. I see the reason the rule is there, it's because of past drama the modeller experienced, but Hana didn't exactly deal with it in a good way. Putting a leash on their work and hiding away isn't a sulution. but it's complicated so I can understand it from Hana's side too.
On roco's part there is alot to be said. They gave a warning, things happend. On the part of the Russia model though, that was really just a misunderstanding. They didn't mean to cause harm, they thought it was okay that the model could be used. The password leaking wasn't direct at first before someone else just screamed what the password was outloud. It was a big misunderstanding, and I'll say that it wasn't exactly rule breaking, to begin with. People thought it was okay, and it went bad.
I shall make a journal on the subject of openmindedness with modellers! XD
Yeah, that's what I think with Roco, but unfortunately things got out of hand with that one time with the Russia model. I understand that it wasn't rule breaking, however it had said in Roco's comments on bowlroll with the Russia download that it was a test. I can't believe though, that someone is that stupid to scream the password out loud! Obviously, it'll upset the modeller (hence why they had passwords in the beginning - so people can work on clues, or together to think of how to solve it).
I don't know much about Hana, but I have heard many nasty things about her, and I really don't want to know - the drama's her business, not mine. Putting a leash can actually cause worse results - it causes rebellion. For example; my friend hid away his DS because he was restricted with technology by his dad. He still got high marks in his exams, though because he restricted himself. Trying to restrict someone else, especially without their permission, is a sure-fire way to cause friction between people.
I one time edited Hana's Prussia, and I was told off by someone when I submitted the artwork in a group. So, I took off the picture, and posted it somewhere else. What I think can solve this problem is if the modeller gets a picture of the outfit or edit and give a tick or cross. Though I understand that the modeller themself would be busy with their own crap.
I'm too tired to speak more, but I'll look out for that open-minded journal!
(And thank you so much for the watch!
Misunderstandings almost always end in a sad or bad way. It is to be expected. We couldn't exactly do much about it when the misunderstanding started. And I understand why Roco reacted like she(?) did.
I honestly don't know much about Hana as a person. I really didn't pay that much attention until the drama started happening. And we can't contact Hana about it because even if they have a blog, not much has happend since almost 2011. I'm not sure if they quit or what happend.
I look forward to that! ^^
You're very welcome! ^^ I since I'm a Hetalia MMD'er, did watch you for the MMD work. But I also really liked your drawings. I'm not that much of a artist, I draw once in a while. But it's really fun to see others way of drawing. Different techniques are very fun! ^^
That's the sad thing, it does lead to something bad. Even worse online; because at least if the misunderstanding is done in real life, you can apologize visibly and look like you mean it. But seriously, I don't understand why someone would just post out a password - there's something called private messaging
I don't know Hana herself, really, but I have a feeling that they've quit. However, I thought the same thing of Nachi Akira, and now look at her! She's busting out new moves with a new, badass Romano, and she's on a role with Italy, too! She's even toned down her rules to include shonen-ai and yaoi for those fans (which is a brave move, I think). What surprised me the most was that she didn't put any passwords on all of those models.
Lol, I've drawn way before I've ever used MMD. I've also started to use Photoshop, too. XD but yes, different techniques of art are quite fun to experiment with! (I tried with paints, and honestly, I learnt that I sucked at using them...TTnTT)
Online pretty much everything can go bad. While I think that the non-Japanese fandom does alot of crap the modellers aren't the innocent either. They have also done questionable things. But people liek to ignore them because they don't want it to go bad and lose models.
Yeah, Nachi Akira knows the element of suprise. The full backstory for why they left is only up for theories, most of which I've read and don't entirely agree with. But it goes how it goes. xP
Im not big on digital drawing. Because I don't have a tablet and I don't have much control with mouse movement. I do mostly traditinal drawing and paint. I don't think it's that goodd, but I want to draw or paint something, and when I feel it's good I can be really proud of it. Mostly because in Scandinavian culture it's a big no-no to be proud of oneself. If you do your selfish. It's a thing most kids here and my parents grew up with and I try hard to ignore it, but it's hard. So when I think it's good I can have a little yay-party inside my head and actually feel proud of myself. ^^
The only reason why most communities only accept people who speak Japanese is because it's easier to communicate with those people and they can read the rules and understand them better than non-Japanese speakers.
And no, it's not a testing community. As with Roco's her community is limited distribution because she no longer releases models for public DL due to what happened with her Russia model (people posting passwords and alternative DL links) Like I said, they are trying to control who gets the model.
I made this jounral to explain why modellers only let Japanese people get models sometimes. So I know what you are talking about. It's both a cultural difference and a way to protect their models.
For this part i,m not sure if you are saying this to me or generally. If it is to me: I said in the jounral that it's a community for limited distribution, so I didn't say it's a testing communtiy.
If it was generally: Yes. It is a community to control who get's the model. The jounral was explaining that it wasn't a testing community, it's for limited distribution. I didn't go into why because I already have a jounral that touch on the subject of that.
Maybe I can go into the reason for communities in a independent jounral, because I don't want to put every subject of it in one jounral, that would be way to much to both write and read.
I hope im not coming off as angry person here. XD Im sorry if I do! I just want to start the disscusion of the subject, and let people know about it.
