A massive elephant seal brings traffic to a hold in Brazil. The animal, which was estimated to weigh more than half a ton, took a leisurely stroll for the streets of Balneario Camboriu.

The 10-foot sea creature waddled out of the Atlantic and headed up the beach before blocking traffic on the main street for more than an hour.

Police officers and firefighters splashed water on the elephant seal which politely used the crossing to keep it wet during its unexpected adventure as shoppers and tourists snapped pictures and videos. Then it simply popped back into the water.

Interesting words: leisurely (slow and relaxed), stroll (walk), waddle (walk with short steps), snap (take a picture), pop back (quickly return).
