Yield On 10-Yr JGBs Hits Lowest Point Since June '03

TOKYO (NQN)--The yield on newly issued benchmark 10-year Japanese government bonds fell 0.005% to 0.550% Monday, the lowest level recorded since June 18, 2003.

The yield on newly issued 20-year bonds fell 0.060% to 1.425%, the lowest level seen since July 22, 2003.

Pension funds and insurers have started buying longer-term bonds, in particular, to increase their holdings and adjust their investments ahead of the end of the current fiscal year at the end of this month.
