Suraj is a young talented cricketer from a poor family in Mumbai. While his mother passed away many years ago, he lives with his father and older sister. Living a life of poverty, his father Shyam - a former cricket player - trains him hard, and under his direction he grows into a player with superhuman control and a high speed bowling ability. Like a typical teenager, he rebels against his father’s harsh methods of training but also knows that under all that discipline, his father wants him to be a rising star in Indian cricket. A hard worker who never gives up, he faces all obstacles with positivity and brightness. He is innocent and sweet looking but his eyes can speak a thousand words.   Though hard working and strong, he is sensitive inside. He can sometimes be naïve, innocent and gullible. He goes through many trials and tribulations, growing from a boy to a young man as he reaches for the stars in the world of cricket. He is challenged by day to day situations, his peers and even his own family. But he tries to face every adversity with grit and determination to become a cricket superstar.

Suraj’s father Shyam is a widower whose only dream is to ensure his son plays for the Indian cricket team. Though part of an amateur cricket team in his younger days and even chosen for the Indian cricket team, a shoulder injury in an accident ended his professional career. This left his dream unfulfilled which he tries to achieve through his son. Shyam works as Rickshaw Driver with a mall in Mumbai. He spends every penny on training and buying equipment for his son to boost his cricket career. Sometimes, Shyam can be so focused on his dream of making his son a cricket star, that he ends up becoming too harsh. This in turn makes him Suraj’s enemy who constantly suffers at the hands of his father’s discipline. He does love his son with all his heart and he lives to make his son happy but sometimes his dream comes in the way of this love.

Though she does not approve of her father’s methods of training, she doesn’t say much because she is afraid to come in the way of her father and brother’s dreams. She grows into a beautiful and graceful woman and has inherited a fiercely powerful inner core from her mother. While her firm convictions and strong will are similar to her father. Eventually, she falls in love with Suraj’s rival, Vikram which obviously does not go down well with her father and brother.
