I didn't accuse Japan as a whole.

I said there is racism and discrimination in Japan.

Is there racism and discrimination in the US? Yes.
That doesn't mean America as a whole is racist.

The video was to bring awareness to an issue that is often not talked about. In that sense, Japan definitely has a big problem.

Yes, America has a big problem with racism, but it is always a topic of discussion in school and in the news.

I did not insist to my students that Japanese people are racists. I showed some examples of racism and discrimination, and then proceeded to talk about the causes and how we can overcome it.

Also, I taught this to 17 and 18 year olds. I think they can make up their own minds.

I'm not saying that America doesn't have racism. I don't think it is hypocritical since I am not accusing Japan of anything. I am just showing what exists.

yes, it is worth it because there are Burakumin and Koreans who are discriminated against today. I brought up these two groups as examples. Chinese, Ainu, women, nikkei-brazilians, gaijin are also discriminated against.

In the child's case, the child felt that he was an upstanding individual, and the more strongly he believes that, the more likely he is to create a rationalization when he undertakes a course of action that is dissonant with that concept.

How do you know he believes he is an upstanding individual? And if he did believe that, how is that belief dissonant with the teacher telling him that he is superior because he has blue eyes? Wouldn't he have to create a rationalization if the teacher told him he was inferior.

Like you said, we are probably looking at this problem from different angles. So my question is: What do you think causes racism? and What is the solution to ending or overcoming racism in oneself?
