Court documents released this afternoon name the people killed and injured last night in Tumon Bay when 21-year-old Tamuning resident Chad De Soto allegedly attacked them with a car and a knife.
De Soto is being held on $2 million cash bail after a magistrate hearing in the Superior Court of Guam at 2 p.m.
According to the magistrate's complaint against De Soto, six people were hit by the car he was driving and eight people were injured with a knife. Two women were killed, both because of knife wounds, the documents state.
Here is the list of the victims:
IThe following SIX (6) people were
injured by the Defendant utilizing his vehicle:
(1) Katsuko Nohara;
(2) Hiromi Nohara;
(3) Daisuki Okawachi;
(4) John Doe;
(5) Jane Doe;
(6) Kana Furuyama.
The following EIGHT (8) people were injured by the Defendant using his knife:
(1) Kazuko Uehara;
(2) Rie Sugiyama;
(3) Rui Sugiyama;
(4) Jane Doe II
(5) R.S. (June 2012);
(6) Haruka Furuyama;
(7) Kaylani Quichocho;
(8) Yusuke Sugiyama.
Killed:
KAZUKO UEHARA was killed by the Defendant when he stabbed her. She was 81 years
RIE SUGIYAMA was killed by the Defendant when he stabbed her. She was 29 years old. RIE SUGIYAMA's eight month old son, R.S. (DOB: June 2012) was also stabbed by the Defendant.
Documents state De Soto told police, "that he intended on hurting as many people with his vehicle initially and subsequently with his knife."
He was charged with two counts of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder and eight counts of aggravated assault.
