The TOHOKU University Group reported 'Global Climate and Environment Change during the Last Three Glacial Cycles'.
In 1993, a Japanease drilling team succeeded in drilling through ithe Antarctic Ice Sheet. From the temperature profile derived from oxygen isotopic analyses of these cores and CO2 profile derived from Gas chromatography using air-sample from ice sheet, synchronized change during the glacial-interglacial cycle was confirmed.
A Japanese glaciological team succeeded in deep ice drilling at Dome Fuji, one of the summits of East Antarctica. The results of an analysis of the Dome Fuji core to a depth of 2500 m reveal global climatic and environmental changes during the last 320,000 years.
Changes in the living human environment are discussed in view of these climatic changes.
The Antarctic ice sheet preserves climate information. A deep ice core was continuously drilled down to a depth of 2,503 m at Dome Fuji station, Antarctica.
Oxygen isotope measurements were conducted on 7 to 50 cm-long ice core samples selected from the entire core depth.
A time scale for the Dome Fuji core is calculated from past accumulation rates and an ice flow model. Past accumulation rates were converted from oxygen isotope values. A depth-age profile was obtained for the past 320 kyr.
The obtained temperature profile shows the characteristics of the past three glacial and interglacial periods. The power spectrum of δ^<18>O change reveals three dominant cycles.
Earth facing a mini-Ice Age 'within ten years' due to rare drop in sunspot activity
The sun is heading into an unusual and extended period of hibernation that could trigger a mini-Ice Age on Earth.
A decrease in global warming might result in the years after 2020, the approximate time when sunspots are expected to disappear for years, maybe even decades.

午前１時半に、近所のスナックの支配人が、黒人系米国人とご来店。 英会話バーとなった。近所のマスターの支配人は、私が流暢な英語を 使うので驚いていた。また黒人系米国人からも Are You Japanese?（おめえ、日本人か？） と絶賛され、しばらく一緒に洋楽を歌った。毛唐の接客も たまにするのは面白い。
