He was once known for his love of junk food.

But Bill Clinton's efforts to slim down have clearly paid off.

The former US President, 66, looked remarkably trim as he left a plush London restaurant on Thursday night.

Mr Clinton had been enjoying a dinner with actor Kevin Spacey at the upmarket Scott's seafood restaurant in Mayfair, after giving a speech in the capital.

The former president, formerly known for his love of burgers, barbecue and junk food, changed to a strict vegan diet in 2010 after fears over his health.

Clinton, 66, had quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 and then stent surgery in 2010.

He now follows a strict eating plan to improve his heart health.

He says he eats fruits, vegetables and beans, but no red meat, chicken or dairy.

His weight-loss was much commented-upon before his daughter Chelsea's wedding, after which he said he had lost at least 24 pounds.

Hillary Clinton recently laughed off the furore which erupted after she was pictured with no make-up and apparently unwashed hair.

The Secretary of State, said: 'You know, at some point, it's just not something that deserves a lot of time and attention.'

'I feel so relieved to be at the stage I'm at in my life right now... and if others want to worry about it, I let them do the worrying for a change.

'Because you know, if I want to wear my glasses I'm wearing my glasses. If I want to wear my hair back I'm pulling my hair back.'

I think he looks fine, this is how humans should be without all that extra fat bloating them up from stuffing themselves with all the junk in the supermarkets (processed wheat, corn & soy) we have got so used to all the overweight people that we don't recognise normal !

He does not look well in these pictures; quite shocking I find, it cannot be the vegan diet alone, there is nothing missing in it even if you follow it full-time. If I lived on the bagels, stews, ice-cream and desserts my local vegan supermarket has for sale, ready-to-eat, I'd be the size of a house.

Good for Hillary! She's a very bright cookie doing a hard and responsible job - anyone who worries about whether or not she wears make-up to do it needs their head examining.

If this is an advertisement for a vegan diet it certainly doesn't do anything for me. He looks absolutely dreadful and years older than his actual age.
