NDC Academy Award 2011 Winner - Family Resources of New Orleans are proud winners of the National Development Council Academy 2011 Project Showcase award.  This award is a special feature of NDC’s biennial conference which showcases the top economic and community development projects in the nation.  Submissions came in cities and communities across the nation in unprecedented numbers; 24 finalists – six in each of four categories – were chosen by NDC to compete for top honors at the NDC Academy.    Read More. . . .

Family Resources of New Orleans welcome you to our website.  This agency is part of a network of Non-Profit Housing Organizations creating homeownership opportunities among low-wealth families.   We are certified as a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) housing counseling agency.  We are also, members of the Louisiana Homebuyers Education Collaborative and are certified by the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency (LHFA) and the City of New Orleans as a Community Housing Development Agency (CHDO). To date, we have successfully helped thirty families build their own homes in St. Charles and rural Jefferson Parish in partnership with the United States Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) Self-Help Housing Program.   Family Resources is committed to helping families building wealth thorough homeownership and is implementing programs that are innovative and creative.  We partner with various  agencies such as the City of New Orleans, Capital One Bank, First National Bank USA, Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, Gulf Coast Bank and Trust, HUD, Housing Assistance Council, Local Initiatives Support Coporation,  Louisiana Housing Finance Agency, Little Dixie Community Action Agency, St. Charles Parish, USDA Rural Development, United Way of Southeast Louisiana and Whitney National Bank.
