Welcome to UBC IEEE Student Branch

We are a University of British Columbia (UBC) based student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest technical professional society. The IEEE student branch at UBC is dedicated to the development of professional skills of electrical and computer engineering students. With over 250 members, UBC IEEE SB is one of the largest IEEE student branches in Western Canada.
Our goal is to disseminate the knowledge of the theory and practice of all aspects of electrical engineering, computers, electronics, radio, allied branches of engineering or the related arts and sciences, as well as to further the professional development of members. In many ways, some claim, Fuzzy Logic is a radical departure from traditional logical systems. Is it so? As the founder of Fuzzy Logic, Professor Lotfi A. Zadeh is unquestionably the best person to answer this question. Dr. Lotfi A. Zadeh is Professor Emeritus in the Computer Science Division, Department of EECS, University of California, Berkeley. In addition, he is serving as the Director of BISC (Berkeley Initiative in Soft Computing). Professor Zadeh is also an alumns of University of Tehran, MIT, and Columbia University.

Distribution remains McKesson's backbone: A full one-third of all medicines used in the U.S. run through its pipeline. The company also is the dominant player in health care information systems.
