You might think that this article would be more about how to pick a lock and on similar topics, but no, this is about true masters of lock picking, and that would be locksmiths. In fact, most of what locksmiths do is lock picking, at least when they work with regular folk who lose keys and need help getting back into their place or into a car. The lock picking is much like what we see in the movies, and there are various tools that can be used to open pretty much any standard door, and a locksmith is versed in all of those ways. It's not just so a locksmith can understand how a lock works and how would a burglar go at opening a door up, lock picking is one of the easiest and the least damaging ways to open a door that is locked out. There are plenty of professions that we herald as heroic, people who we acknowledge work around the clock to make our world a bit more comfortable. Well, believe it or not, locksmiths are supposed to be on that list of heroic professions as well, if for nothing else then for the fact that they are available to you around the clocks. Emergencies that require you to get your hands on a locksmith are just as common in the middle of the night, past work hours and at the crack of the dawn as they are during the day, if not even more numerous at those untimely hours.
