Description:

"Latest Research on Japan’s Military Sexual Slavery"

Currently in the United States, the resolution on the issue of Japan's military sexual slavery ("comfort women") (H.Res.121) is working its way through the House of Representatives. Meanwhile, Japanese government officials and members of the ruling LDP are raising their voices to deny basic, well-established historical facts regarding the "comfort women" issue.

The JWRC researchers will give you an overview of the already well-established facts and their analysis on the reasons why Prime Minister Abe has taken the stance he has. They want the government of Japan to take appropriate action so that Japanese society can regain the trust and respect of the international community.

They will introduce you to some of the latest achievements in research on Japan's military "comfort women" and will distribute some documents related to "enforced prostitution" by Japanese military. In addition, they will answer questions.
