Things to Know about Cialis before Using It
Cialis is known as a treatment drug for erectile dysfunction (ED), a condition that hits men in their life-begins-at-40 phase. But it is also common to hear of men in their 20s going through this stage as well.
Some interesting facts and myths:
• All ED drugs are promoted via two ways: Medical practitioner’s prescription (as expected), and media. As of the moment, the medicine’s TV ad – while highly mind-boggling – is being touted as safe. Two bathtubs + a man in one + a woman in one = a kid-friendly ad. (There are also two bathtubs on the logo itself).
• Tadalafil – a main component – is the drug’s generic name.
• 2.5mg is the lowest dose, while some suppliers offer an increased dose of 200mg per pill.
• If you have liver or kidney disease and you just have to take this, you should be given the lowest dose possible. This is because these two organs are responsible for filtering any intake of the body, so high dosages of medicine may contribute to liver and kidney failure.
• One tablet may last for up to 36 hours – so no need to schedule sexual activity.
• Compared with Viagra and Levitra, Cialis also has another benefit. Aside from the treatment of ED, it also helps patients with prostate illnesses, specifically benign prostatic hypertrophy (or BPH) – a condition that results in urine flow problems which may lead to painful urination (dysuria), UTI and frequent urination to name a few.
• It is not a miracle sex drug. As with other ED medicines, you still need stimulation for you to get an erection. This just gives the gentle push you need to maintain it.
Beware though of the do’s and don’ts:
• DO see a doctor or your health care provider before starting on this drug. Every prescription is catered to the needs of every patient.
• DON’T take excessive alcohol and grapefruit (or grapefruit juice.)
• DON’T overdose. You are only allowed to take a maximum of 1 pill a day. Taking more than one can lead to substance toxicity, and would therefore require immediate medical attention.
• DO allow at least an hour after ingestion for it to take effect.
• DON’T take this or other ED substances with other medicine for your pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, antidepressants, etc. (But should you really need to take it, then make sure that you get proper, professional advice first.)
• If you experience side effects (heart palpitations, headache, muscle pains, dizziness/nausea/chest pains during sexual activity, numbness, swelling of face/lips/tongue, the beginnings of a sore throat, blurriness or unexplainable loss of vision in one or both eyes, a painful erection, non-existent hearing problems prior to taking it, etc.) you may be suffering from a dangerous allergic reaction to the drug. DO go to your health care provider immediately.
Sexual activity is beneficial for both partners. Cialis makes sure to get it up (and allows it to stay up) when it counts the most.
