Here are frequently asked questions regarding the removal of the Greyhound Discovery Pass.
Why are you discontinuing the Discovery Pass?
- When customers purchase a ticket, it’s fair they expect to have a seat when they arrive at the terminal.
Reserved seating is proving very popular, and Greyhound is responding by adding more and more EXPRESS schedules
with reserved seating to meet this demand. The Discovery Pass is designed to provide flexible travel (non-schedule,
non-date specific), which has been its appeal to many customers, but it can’t be used with reserved seating because of
that very design. We wish to avoid any situation where there is no space for Discovery Pass customers on the bus.
Is there a similar type of ticket option I’ll be able to choose going forward?

Advance purchase fares on greyhound.com and greyhound.ca provide excellent value compared with the Discovery Pass.
The traveler is provided accurate schedule information for Greyhound and other bus companies, and depending on the schedule,
can also select an Express route, which offers exciting amenities and the security of a guaranteed seat.

I’ve already purchased my Discovery Pass. How long after September 30 will it be valid for travel?

The Discovery Pass will be valid for use after September 30 according to the terms of the purchase and length of the pass.
No new passes will be issued by Greyhound after that date.
What do I do if I’m at the terminal and the ticket agent doesn’t accept my Discovery Pass, even though it’s still valid?

All valid passes will be honored as they always have been, until their date of expiration.
Any exceptions will be handled by Customer Service as with any other failure to provide customer service.

Can I receive a refund if I decide that I no longer want to continue using my Discovery Pass?

Standard cancellation penalty of 20% applies to all passes submitted for refund.

All refunds must be processed before the printed start date on issued pass or ticket.

If any portion of the pass has been used, no refund will apply.

Please keep a copy of your ticket purchase for your records.
- For International purchases, any unused pass may be refunded through the International Agency from which the ticket was purchased.
- Travelers are responsible for providing proper documentation to customs officials when crossing international borders. Should entry be denied to an individual, Greyhound, its partners, or affiliates will not refund any monies.
