What is a VPN SERVICE?
VPN stands for virtual private network. It is a secure interface between a computer and any mobile device with Internet capabilities and the World Wide Web. A VPN service provides the network for its customers who need a better level of security for their computer and online work.
The VPN service provides the servers along with temporary IP addresses in locations around the world or in a designated part of the world. The servers are often time located in remotes areas where an internet connection is sparse or, sometimes, non-existent.
The VPN’s offer security and anonymity for those that work on highly sensitive issues via the Internet or for anyone who would rather not have their IP address monitored or tracked as they go about their Internet business.
There are many VPN service providers and although they use the same technology, each service offers something a little different in the way of benefits. The differences are not all that much, but sometimes it can be enough of a difference to make the customer choose one over the other.
All services use high speed servers, but the ultimate connection speed depends on the customers ISP connection speed. Most services allow customers to choose the server location they prefer or one that is closets to their physical location. It is possible for a customer in one country utilize a server in another country without limitations.
Some VPN providers allow a customer to test drive a program before purchasing it by offering a no cost or minimal cost trial program. The program is fully functional, but runs for a certain amount of time, them shuts down. Sometimes the program just has to be restarted to get another trial time frame while others are finished at the completion of the specified time frame.
