Kamagra and its Side Effects
One of the popular erectile dysfunction drugs in the market today is called Kamagra. It has the same active ingredient as Viagra, the wildly popular drug in the 90’s. Sildenafil citrate, the active ingredient, causes the muscles in a man’s penis to enter a relaxed state in order to achieve a proper blood flow to the organ, which is needed in erection.
The drug, also called “generic Viagra” because it is cheaper than Viagra, is available in a number of dosages: 25, 50, or 100 mg. It is also available in two forms: a pill, which resembles Viagra though slightly darker in color, and the oral jelly, usually used by men who have a hard time swallowing pills.
Sildenafil citrate was initially used to treat a couple of different medical problems: hypertension or high blood pressure and angina pectoris or chest pains. It was made by a group of chemists under the pharmaceutical company Pfizer. The usual dosage of Kamagra is in 100 mg. It is advisable to take the drug at least an hour before the actual undertaking of the sexual act. It is better to take the drug on a near empty stomach as food enzymes may lower the strength of the medicine. Be sure to stay away from alcohol if you are taking this medication. Same as food, alcohol prevents the medicine from reaching its full potential.
Though it is generally safe, it cannot be avoided that some people may experience some side effects when they are taking sildenafil. Men who rarely take medication may experience a number of adverse effects. This may include dizziness, headache, and eye sight problems but not as serious as blindness. Some people may also experience an upset stomach after taking the medication. Also if the sildenafil-assisted erection you got lasts for more than 4 hours, there is a chance that it is a side effect.
These side effects usually happen at the start of taking the medication since your body is still adjusting to the medicine. Give your body time to adjust, however if you have been experiencing the side effects for an extended period, please consult a doctor.
Only handful instances of more severe effects have been recorded. Some of the more grave effects included chest pains as well as increased or abnormal heart beats and vomiting. Studies show that only a very small percentage of men who take the medicine experienced these side effects.
It would be best to consult a doctor before taking any erectile dysfunction medicine so he can do a thorough analysis of your medical history to see if you are qualified to take the sexual performance enhancing drug.
Always keep in mind to never self-medicate. You may know of someone who took Kamagra and was extremely pleased with the results but it does not necessarily follow that you will experience the same results. No two people are alike so make sure that you consult a doctor first to avoid any untoward incident inside the bedroom or out of it.
