「Building Bytes」は3Dプリンタでセラミックのレンガを作り、建築物を作ってしまおうというプロジェクト。
例えばこんなパーツ（Honeycomb brick）を印刷して、
組み合わせて、
壁を作っちゃったりできます。
構想を練っているのはBrian Peters氏。アムステルダムのデザイン会社の経営者です。
いわく「一つのレンガを作るのにだいたい15分掛かる。既存の材料に比べて何より優れているのは、建築しているその現場で、カスタムメイドの家や構造物を造ることができる点にある（”It takes 15 minutes to print a brick at the moment so I don’t think I’d be necessarily competing with existing construction materials but the benefits are that you can design a custom-made house or structure and have it assembled on site,”）」と語っています。確かに可能性感じますねー！
今後はより大きなプリンターを用いて、本格的な構造物を造っていくそうです。このプロジェクトは注目ですね。3Dプリンタは建築業界の破壊的イノベーションとなると思います。
