Would it make it hard to sleep after I quit? Or what?

I know it’s bad for the liver and I already did it once. I didn’t hallucinate really, things just kinda swayed and I couldn’t really walk right. Nothing too major happened.

Chosen Answer:

Ambien hits similar receptors that benzodiazepines do. However, one week of such a low dosage shouldn’t result in any latent insomnia. You *may* have a slight issue for a night or two but if you don’t normally have sleeping issues I would bet against it.

I know you know this, but trying to get a buzz/high from Ambien is a lost cause. The dose you took/taking isn’t particularly dangerous to your body but you should not drive or do anything that requires focus and motor coordination.

Take care,

I already know to cut it in half. How else can I make it stronger? I’m a severe insomniac with a high tolerance, I’m almost out, and my first day of work starts tomorrow. Please help.

Chosen Answer:

Wash it down with vodka.

Seems to be a lot safer and less addictive then the xanax I was on for 3 years, sometimes I will take it to refall asleep if I wake up at 1 or 2am so I stay asleep until 6-8am.

Lately I have had to use it less for just going to sleep as the xanax withdrawl has subsided.
I had three of my doctors for three different medical problems say it was ok to use for now.

Chosen Answer:

Yes it’s safe to use this way especially for the Xanax withdrawal.

Since about 7-8th grade I’ve never been able to sleep properly. The only time I sleep normally is if I stay up the previous night, such as tonight. I’ll lay in bed for several hours and finally fall asleep around 4-5 AM. I’ve tried changing the way I sleep by going to bed earlier, but it never lasts because I just can’t sleep. The longest it has lasted is about a month. Is it possible I have a sleep disorder? Should I see a doctor?

Thank you in advance.

Maybe! I have that problem too!

I use Ambien as needed, not everyday but Ive noticed my memory seems to be getting worse. I cant remember the day before sometimes and blocks of times are gone I just cannot remember anything. I have to use some sleep aid due to my insomnia but I am wondering if my memory is fading as a side effect. I am only 44 and have no head injuries.

I tried Lunesta in times past, and awoke with a vulgar taste in my mouth, and that was a step up, which was Xanax.

At a certain point, I realized I had done things and said things while on xanax, that I could not remember, and also felt I needed it, and it was becoming an addiction.

I started looking at all natural therapies for sleep aids, and when once I was competitive athlete, had gained twenty pounds, when a friend told me about Stemulite. There is a daytime and a nightime formula, which is all natural.

I started taking the Stemulite, and was able to wean myself off both medications, and sleep really soundly, and when I woke up I felt good, not groggy or medicated.

It was a relief for me to find an all natural product that finally worked.

I realized that melatonin was in the nighttime formula, so I decided to just take melatonin because it was less expensive, and didn’t get the same sleep I gained with Stemulite, so I went back to Stemulite.

well, if you have seen bedtime stories a guy in it has sleep panic disorder. I was wondering what it is, and if it is even real?? He wakes up, well i think he is sleeping, but he sits up and screams. I have been curious what it is ever since i ave seen the movie. If you could tell me what it is, that would be great.

Chosen Answer:

My friend has it. He has choking dreams. He wakes up and runs to the bathroom. He looks down his throat in the mirror to see if their is anything there. He says the dream is very realistic and he thinks he is choking every time. I gave you a source so I hope it helps.

Chosen Answer:

Not that I am aware.

Sleep disorders including insomnia and apnea are very complex conditions that are associated with more than a single chemical reaction.

Ok, so over the last year I’ve had some unsual dream experiences, and I want to figure out what it is. basically, its like Im sleeping walking.. or.. sleep.. moving.. or w/e.. in my sleep. but Im conscious enough to remember it the next day, but at the time I am still dreaming. Even though I see everything in my room clearly. For example, I’ve woken up remembering having full on conversations with shadows.. or.. people that.. as I become more cosncious dissolve into shadows. Or the other night I woke up to find a bird fluttering its wings in my bed. and I was asleep and just sat up staring at this bird I can barely see in the dark.. and then go bck to sleep and remember it the next day.. So.. help please, I really want to look up on whatever this is, but since I dont know what it is I cant look it up. thanks :)

This might sound a little strange, but my husband had some of these same experiences.

He has since been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and since he began using his cpap, his “nightmares” or whatever you want to call them have stopped.

Can’t say for sure that that is your problem as well, but it might be worth mentioning to your doctor.

Hope this helps!

  • What is Ambien (Zolpidem)?

Ambien is a sedative, also called a hypnotic. It affects chemicals in your brain that may become unbalanced and cause sleep problems (insomnia).

Ambien is used for the short-term treatment of insomnia (difficulty falling or staying asleep). This medication causes relaxation to help you fall asleep.
