A L White (William Lennon) Beva work / ammo / officer boots, UK 9, NOS
Quality, rugged ammo-style boots, these are made of 'Beva Leather' (similar to zug grain) which is one of the thickest leathers I've ever come across. The boots were made by A L White of Leeds, whose name is now owned and used by Derby-based bootmaker William Lennon. A L White ceased trading in 1993. The boots are a classic mock captoe model, with eight pairs of eyelets and leather soles with hobnails and horseshoe heel plates.. I own a similar pair of boots from the same leather, stamped with the CC41 mark, which look like they were made last year - these were built to last and have a long time left to go. The boots are unworn and in stunning condition - the leather doesn't even feel dry. I've dusted these gently but haven't cleaned them properly so that the new owner has a 'clean slate' when breaking these in. The boots are marked a size 9. The sole is 30.2cm long and 11.1cm wide, taken externally You'll struggle to find sturdier boots than these nowadays. Please note, there is nothing dressy, fancy or fashion-led with these - they're hard work boots that will stand the test of time. UK postage will be £12 due to the weight of the boots. UK bidders only please. Please note that all postal charges include packing materials, such as boxes, bags and paper. For your peace of mind, I'm happy to refund without question should a retailer of the brand in question doubt the authenticity of any sold goods in writing. Likewise, let me know if there are any other problems with stuff that I've sold as I'd rather sort it out than let bad feelings take over. Lack of knowledge of your own size etc isn't a valid reason for a refund though!
