Tay: I'm gonna tell you guys my own personal opinion on editing models and readmes. Keep in mind, this is only MY opinion on how I am going to follow them I'm not saying that others should do this. Just what I'm going to do. So please dont rage at me for my personal standards.

Lets start with readmes. I understand that modelers have their own set of rules for their work. And I respect those rules, TO AN EXTENT. I draw, and I know what its like to have something you worked hours on altered, used, and even slandered. And though to others it might not seem like it, it hurts. Not the actual damage to the art, but the fact that a person did not have enough respect for me as the artist to not go off and have a free-for-all on my work. I can connect with modelers who view their models as their art. And some may say thaat models are just a bunch of pixels. Yes, they are. But nowadays, a lot of pictures you see on DA are also mostly pixels (things made entirely on photoshop for example) I try to follow the readmes to the best of my ability. If I can't read it on my own, I find someone who can. Not because I just want to use the model. I view using models as a form of appreciation to modelers. But, this is where some people may disagree. Nachi's Italy models. From what I know, Nachi is no longer a part of the MMDC. She's disappeared. Her readmes say that you cant edit AND have romantic content. I would love to respect that rule, but she is no longer a part of the community. I dont think I should have to follow a rule by someone who has left the community. You can disagree with me on that, and I'll respect your opinion. Just respect mine. I will use Italy and Romano edits in romantic content as I please. Picture it this way. If a guy or girl you were dating had rules, like dont call me on Mondays cuz I have work or something, and then they dumped you. You never see them again. Would you still keep the no calls on monday rule with your new partner? No. I thought not. So why should I follow every single rule of someone who left the MMDC? Dont get me wrong, I will happily follow every single rule that applies to me in active modelers' readmes. However, if someone leaves, not so much. If you want people to follow your rules, you should stay near the people you want to apply them too. As they say: When the cat is away, the mice will play.

Now, for edits... I really dont mind them. I think some of the edits out there are great. I dont do it a lot myself, but still. Now...I think that if a modeler asks you to not edit a model, than fine. Let them be that way. I wont edit it then. I'll respect their wishes because they provided the original model. I lack the ability to make my own, so I use someone else's. Its like someone telling another "You can use my doll, but please keep her in her original clothes so she looks nice, and people know I made it" I respect that. Most models allow for editing, so its really not a huge problem. But having to choose between either edits or romance? That....its not the easiest choice to make, even for someone like me who doesnt support many pairings.

Now, this is only my own way of following the readmes. I mean no disrespect to any modelers. In fact, I would love to be able to hang out with them at some point in my life. If they were to visit the US, I would gladly show them around my area. In fact, I HAVE talked to Japanese tourists. They were all very nice people. I'm sure the modelers are also very nice. Sure, there may be misunderstandings, but that happens between everyone. Even the best of friends or closest of family members. I hope they can respect my choices, and happily move along with life. Even if they choose that they dont want anything to do with me, thats fine. They dont have to want to be my friend. I will simply nod in agreement, and walk the other way.

MM you have a good point. I'd take a similar stance, but as you know, I'm the MMD Nazi's punching bag.
