Suspicion is being raised by Japanese netizens about the choreography of 'Gangnam Style' being plagiarized.

On September 14, netizen posted a video of car advertisement in an online community board.
In the video, dancers are wearing yellow cowboy hats while turning their hands holding a rope.

The netizen who posted this claimed that 'Gangnam Style' plagiarized this part of choreography from the advertisement.

Some commented, "He did plagiarize for sure.", "It's way too much of copying."

On the other side, Korean netizens responded, "Nonsense.", "So wearing cowboy hats is also plagiarism." , "There are a lot of horse dances in the world."

    Well... that's true.
  • digitalSkyy

They aren't doing very well at masking their jealousy. :C
  • How...Could You Not Love Me?

Haha, nice try but you get no cookies J-netizens.
  • elch

as they have said the people wear yellow hats and was spinning a rope above their head. PSY did not spin a rope above his head.
Second thing is PSY wears a suit not a cowboy style.
Third he did not wear a hat so for his appearance he did not copy .
As for his dance style if they said he copy J-pop that is not true because many country has already invented the dance before japan did.Just that is was not famous before PSY did it.
  • Summerchoi

woah lao.... LOL!!!!!!because j-pop fan does not acknowledge the fact that K-pop popularity is way better than Jpop.. so they start picking up things that is trying to take down PSY !
  • Ji Juaño (조르지오 루이지)

Nothing beats PSY the way HE DANCE. Those dancers are not GOOD DANCERS. -.-
  • lim wei bin

This is obviously the side effects of the tension between japan and korea territorial disputes.
  • Crystal 조규연

    lol they dance well
    but psy is da best

  • SillyJpoop

Nope. The dance in the Japanese commercial is an outright rip off of Kpop group Koyote's 1998 song/video "Soon Jeong".
  • park youngmin

Japan is plagiarism. South Korea is the origin of the dance. Evidence is a address below.

Nope. The yellow hat chick in the Japanese commercial is a rip off of Kpop group Koyote's 1998 song/video, "Soon Jeong". Check it out on youtube.

Many People Do The Cowboy Dance. So What?
  • Munira Hanis

Horse dance have been invented for so long. It's no big deal. Please, hating isn't good.
  • Via Mae

How can they say the he plagiarized it? How come they are so sure? There are a lot of horse dances in the world. That is basically true. They shouldn't be spreading rumors like that. That's certainly bad.
  • 김동현

    original korean horse dance

    japuuuuuuu
  • Jellybeans

... it's just a variation of a cowboy dance. It's not like it was JUST invented recently. It's not some special creation of some choreographer so I don't see why this is a big deal at all. >.>
  • Agniel

Anyone who agrees that this commercial originated the cowboy dance is either an idiot or a liar. It seems there are people in Japan who are obsessed with Korea-bashing. Wasn't enslaving Koreans, murdering their empress and looting their country for 35 years enough?
  • SillyJpoop

Not true. J commercial is a rip off of Koyotes 1998 song/video, "soon jeong".
  • JealousJpoopers

The yellow hat chick in the Japanese commercial is definitely a rip off of the Kpop group Koyote's 1998 song/video "Soon Jeong" (korean title).

    original In 1998 (corea) = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
  • Paul Gonzales

The "rodeo culture" of roping, cowboys, and cattle originated in Texas. Thus, nobody imitated a Japanese "horse dance." If anyone is copying anyone...it is the Japanese copying the Americans. Psy just made it popular.
  • Cecilia Liang

    puhahahahaha attention seekers
  • hello

omg that means millions of people have plagirized.... dumb netizens
  • JealousJpoopers

Actually, it looks as if the dance in this Japanese commercial - if it is of recent vintage - copied the dance from a Kpop group, Koyote's 1998 song (whose title currently escapes me).
  • harrycom27

I will translate the comment of 'coyote' down there.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
This is a advertisement for 'onecahsing' and this came out a year before the
    'Japanese promotional video' did.

And as for that dance moves in the korean ad, they were inspired by the dance of k-pop singer group named 'coyote' of 1998 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... To add, the 'invisible horse dance' was very popular in korea in the time of 80s.. If we were to go by the logic of Japanese people, original of the dance in japanese promotional video would come from korean ad and popular invisible horse dance in 80s and from the american artist who first created the dance move.

  • Kochigachi

Do Jpop lovers and Japanese know they have copied Koyote dance move? so basically Jpop copied Kpop
  • hyuk ki

If you must talk about " plagiarism" Japs have plagiarized their language and culture from China and Korea. Enough said!
    To: Writer of this article.
Don't even bother printing this kind of article on this board. I don't know what your intention was but it is down right insulting!.... Are you a Jap?
  • Jpoopsucks

    No need for racist pejoratives.
  • shin

Hey, japs~ Don't go acting like a jerk!
Do you know the horse riding dance
was very famous for hit dance in korea from late 1980s to early 1990s?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
  • Jpoopsucks

Do not use racist J word. It demeans Kpoppers.
  • ivethy

  • NEON

WOW. DIDN'T KNOW THAT DANCING/CHOREOGRAPHY ALSO NEEDS COPYRIGHTS.
    (-__________-) JAPANESE. THEY'RE SO FUNNY WHEN THEY'RE JEALOUS =)))))
  • T302

So everyone that starts doing horse dance is plagiarism?? Then everyone should just stop dancing....... cause everyone is just copying everyone..... zzzzzzz
  • Coreandude

japs need more nukes to fix their mental disorders.
  • Polly

plagiarizard is bad. People who support that is sick in the mind. and a hypocrite cos if that happened to you, you wont say the same thing. Anyways there definetly are elements in it that is very similiar to the jap advert. And im pretty sure Psy got a big influenced from the video. But unfortunatly the ad didnt made it big with the song but Psy did. Also this is a dog eat dog world.
  • Kochigachi

Tell that to your Japanese friends - Japan is land of plagiarizing
  • JJ

Plagiarism is bad indeed, but...PSY DID NOT PLAGIARISE. Horse dances have been around for decades. PSY just made his own version of it. What the heck is wrong with some Japanese netizens? I mean...come on :(... they must be reallllllly jealous.
  • boxxer

    Dear japs
