All right, I’m gonna write something really important now and you have to promise to read it carefully. The reason why I’m saying this is because I know many people who believe car insurance is not important, and that truly shouldn’t be the case. I probably would not even think of sharing my story before something unfortunate happened to me, but now that it did and now that I realize the importance of car insurance, I simply must take action and tell everyone why it is so pertinent you get it.
First of all, don’t think of me as some kind of a preacher. I am definitely not anything of the sort. In fact, I am your average Joe, so to speak, just as prone to following the opinions of the majority as the rest are. And I as well used to be skeptical about car insurance, because the premium seemed like a lot of money for what I would be getting in return. Plus, I do understand that the economy sucks nowadays. It is the absolute truth, and it’s hitting people pretty hard. Those who were once able to afford spending money every month on various things, such as magazines, movies and even insurance, now are a lot more careful when it comes to distributing their money. I get all of that, but I don’t get how someone can say that car insurance isn’t necessary, though, up until a couple of years ago, I used to be that person as well. Now, read my story and hopefully change your opinion of car insurance, if you are a skeptic to begin with, that is.
Like I said, I used to be one of those guys completely unbothered by car insurance. I knew the premium for my Mazda would not be too low and really didn’t want to spend money every month paying for this abstract idea of the possibility of an accident or another unfortunate event. However, my girlfriend was appalled by my life philosophy and insisted I get it. This I did, and it wasn’t that tedious a process. The insurance company asked me a bunch of questions and also required some documentation, and my premium was soon established. I am in my 30s and I am a safe driver with a good driving history, so it really wasn’t that much, I cannot complain.
I started paying and it didn’t bother me, but I failed to realize the importance of my insurance until one day I got caught up in an accident on a highway. It wasn’t really ‘my fault’, it was raining heavily, and this other car tried to cut in ahead of me from a different lane… I tried to brake, but couldn’t control my car because of the water and I hit the car in the front. Luckily, nobody was hurt, but the damage to both cars was immense, and it was the insurance that saved me. The company took care of everything, bills, documents and repairs. If I didn’t have that, I would have had to deal with everything myself, and also spend a lot of money. So, trust me, car insurance pays off.
