A Day After Fanime 2011
And the worst part is... I totally forgot to bring a camera... *sigh*
===
I only had a chance to go Monday, and sorta late due to how public transit schedules it's self on Weekend/Holiday schedule, but overall I had an experience I sought after
Live Play
I recently got into WS after buying a card lot from a member here (thank you~), and literally the best experience you can have is actually going to cons and play against other people. I was surprised to find people "interested" and people who knew how to play (I consider 8 or so a relatively good number of people for an international game). I am very happy that there is some "community" around me who plays.
Any of you out there, we should meet up in a monthly basis or something, hold tourneys. Sorta hoping Bushiroad USA will help us invade Fanime next year too...
~~~
Decks brought: 2
Content:
- Fate deck (from Nanoha A's, and is the title I am giving it)
- Railgun Trial Tweak deck (from To Aru Railgun. I tweaked it a bit from the cards I got..)
Railgun outcome: 2 win 1 loss (from what I remember)
notes:
- this deck is based on clutch and hitting level 3... Sorta don't like that idea....
- wish I can modify it more...
Fate deck outcome: 2 wins 1 loss 1 tko (form what I remember)
- very fast, but has no end game (imo)
- luck was not on my side some of the time (three climax in a row for being hit by damage)
ON another note, I did attend one event, and it was the Mamoru Yokota's special auction. This auction was brought to us by himself, with the help of various seiyuus and directors (varying from actual anime director, to animation director). The purpose of the auction was to raise money for the reliefs efforts due to the Japanese Earthquake/Tsunami/nuclear disaster continuing to unfold. For a list of what was auction go to this link: http://www.fanime.com/special-auction/
(I am not going to show case them here, b/c I feel that Fanime, as well as some of the art producers who made those panels will come after me. So just go to the link)
I am very amazed. I don't think I am going to list the ending prices, but the auction raised a total of approx 39K. This event showed to me that
a: I REALLY have no money
b: I am NOT a hardcore otaku
c: People are god damn crazy (Especially for the Kenshin one, but there is a "good" reason for it, if people can recognize)...
Now to AX I look forward too~
でもやっぱりアメリカでこれすると儲かるよな。。。良いことだとさておき、一般でこの金額をポーンと投げ出せるほどの金あるのは良いな〜
日本ガンバ!
Ah, I was only there Saturday Sunday, so I guess I wouldn't have been able to meet up. Glad you were able to meet a fellow figure.fm member though.
I actually don't know how many of the people I met on Monday were on sites such as Bushiroad.fm (for WS players,if you want Bushiroad stuff to come to the States, build up a fan base there) and Figure.fm. I think the majority of the people were there Sat.+Sun. night no?
man, i wish i coulda met up with some people, but i was helping bluefin set up and was really tired most of the weekend, but it was worth it
oooo, do you actually work there? Always liked their Gunpla+SHF+Robot Damashii displays. Can' wait to see the shop in AX this year, since last year you guys had elite Gunpla builders have their work displayed too...
no i dont, i just met one of the guys who does works there through a mutual friend, we got weekend badges for helping out and got to pose all those gundams and figures, it was fun.
The autographed Rei drawing pulled in over $6,000 alone. The Bid war on that was insane. I don't even know who it was signed by.
I've heard about that one... I wish I made that much money to throw out there... God I wanted that Puffy sign board..
Ah, I totally would have gone to Fanime, though I wouldn't have been able to afford my first AX.  ̄ω ̄
And great Danny will be there too~
I'm assuming you are akita on the bushiroad.fm. I left around noon on monday since I stayed up all night sunday into monday. Saturday had a good amount of players from what I saw. You will get to play a lot more at AX lol. Problem I see with a monthly meet is of course getting enough people to go and having a place to hold it at too.
=P -yes I am~
I've heard good things about that Saturday meet, and you guys teaching newbies how to play. I am definitely willing to meet at various occasions to get to know the community out there, but probably will not be a regular meet.
I am looking forward to the SoCal/AX WS/Bushiroad gatherings. Hopefully, we can arrange times to meet...
