Connecticut College Today
Date: April 30, 2011
This project was born primarily from a self-designed interdisciplinary major in New Media Studies, a penchant for storytelling, and a deep curiosity about the history of Connecticut College, my college. Its stories aim to pinpoint characterizing time periods in the history of the College. Its medium is an experiment in hypertext, meant to question our linear sense of narrative by giving the reader the power of choice. My generation has been raised in an era that embraces Google as a lifestyle: we consume content by link surfing and searching names, places, dates, concepts. My goal here is to reflect this technology by taking a history not entirely told, based in the past, and presenting it in a way that adheres to the fractured way my generation comfortably consumes content now.
