Learn what Finasteride can do for you and your hairline
There are some men that just accept that they are going bald and that there is nothing that they can do about it. They accept that it is a genetic issue and that they are at peace with the fact that they will be bald. There are others who will fight it though. Many men are very attached to their hair, and balding is very hard for them to accept. These men will try everything that can possibly stop them from losing their hair and help them to regain the hair that they have lost.
Over the years, there has been one drug that has not waned in popularity as far as solutions for male pattern balding go, and that is Propecia. You have probably heard of Propecia if you have done any research on this at all, but you might not have heard of Finasteride. Well Finasteride is the same exact thing, only Propecia is the name under which the drug Finasteride is sold commercially. That is why you know the name Propecia but are probably not familiar with Finasteride, even though they are the same thing.
Many scientists and experts on balding have linked male pattern baldness with increased levels of the hormone DHT in the body of the middle aged man. Finasteride works to decrease the level of DHT in the body in order to stop baldness. First, you should know that Finasteride is not a 100 percent proven solution. In fact, there really is no solution on the market that will guarantee that you will not go bald. Baldness seems to be a very complex problem, and no one has found a real solution for ending this problem forever.
It has been shown in studies that Finasteride will work for about 50 percent of men. However, even when it does work, the process is a fairly slow one and you will need to be very patient with it. You will probably not see any improvement in your hair before you have been taking Finasteride for at least three months. In some cases, it could even take up to half a year to see any changes for the better.
And as stated earlier, unfortunately, for every other man, Finasteride will not work. So if you have been taking it for over a year and your hair is still falling out at a rapid rate, then there is a good chance that Finasteride will just not work for you. In this case, you should stop using it and if you are still intent on stopping your balding, you might want to seek out different solutions for your problem.
But if you really want to stop balding, you should at least give Finasteride a shot, because there must be a reason was it is still one of the most popular remedies for male pattern balding after all these years.
