These Hole Seeking, Aim and Fire Putters Rock and Roll the Ball Directly into The Cup

Scotty Cameron by Titleist Select GoLo Mallet Putter
Used by Tour favorite, Ricky Fowler, the GoLo is a slightly asymmetric half moon-style mallet that is milled from 303 stainless steel. It has a thick top line and an inset black sightline. It comes with a choice of no offset or the 3/4 offset Fowler uses.
The GoLo includes Cameron’s Select weighting technology, with weights embedded in the heel and toe for enhanced balance and stability. The GoLo also features a “triple angled sole for square set up with camber for smooth takeaway.”
In addition, its rich, dark, glare free black finish combined with red-dot graphics definitely creates a modern, but timeless look. The GoLo has framed, double milled red-dot graphics and framed, double bevel weights which makes this putter not only a hole- seeking weapon, but a eye-catching and  elegant looking putter.
Our testing group really liked the "aim and fire" attributes this putter offered. They felt it was easy to line up a putt and the  buttery feel and response was excellent.

TaylorMade Ghost Manta
TaylorMade Ghost Manta PutterThe TaylorMade Ghost Manta putter has a club head that the company refers to as a "neo-mallet shape." The Ghost Tour putter series features six different models, three mallets and three blades.
The Ghost Manta's aluminum mallet head features  two black rails on top to improve alignment and aim. Two 50-gram tungsten weights, plus an adjustable weight in the center of the club head, add stability. The 50-gram weights are in the heel and toe; the adjustable weight in the back center.
Both the Manta and the Tour family, being members of the Ghost line, utilize the white, non-glare finish on the club head. That color offers better contrast with the turf and makes sight lines stand out.
The putter is forgiving and gets the ball rolling easily, just be sure you get the correct loft for your stroke.
The shaft is double-bend. The TaylorMade Ghost Manta putter comes in lengths of 33, 34 and 35 inches; the 33- and 34-inch putters weigh 360 grams and the 35-inch is very slightly heavier.
$179. The belly and long versions are also available at $199.
The Tour series in 2012 will include three mallets - models Ghost Tour Corza, MA-81 and FO-72 - plus three blades (DA-12, DA-62, SE-62). All but the Corza incorporate two adjustable sole weights.

PING Nome 355 Putter
New PING Nome PutterThe putter was a winner the first week it was on the Tour ---used by Hunter Mahan to win at the 2012 WGC Match Play Tournament.
The Nome is a precision milled geometric mallet putter made from high-grade aluminum and features tungsten weighting in the sole which lowers the center of gravity and boosts the MOI (Moment of Inertia). Standard and belly-length versions are available.
The Nome's ability to improve aim  and accuracy is a result of the putter's black alignment bar and contrasting white sightline. More importantly is the feel, extreme forgiveness and responsiveness of this putter which can be attributed to its  lightweight, high-grade aluminum frame featuring tungsten sole weighting that optimizes the CG position and elevates MOI, making the Nome highly accurate. The Nome is 355 grams and 405 grams in the belly model.

PING's research has found that when the putter model matches a player's stroke type, the putting stroke becomes more consistent, the key to making more putts.
There are three different shaft bends are available to fit Straight, Slight Arc, or Strong Arc putting strokes.

Golfers can determine their stroke type using the iPING Fit™ feature on the club maker's new iPING™ putter app, a free download through the App Store™. Matching the putter model with stroke type is a new form of putter fitting that PING calls Fit For Stroke™.

Odyssey FLIP Putter

Odyssey Men's Flip Face #5 PutterCallaway has either added new golf addicted scientists and engineers to their development staff, changed the water supply, or simply awakened from a deep slumber.
Their new products, especially the RAZR Fit Driver, the RAZR Fit #3 Wood, the HEX Black Ball and the Odyssey FLIP FACE putter, have been the best to date, probably since the original Big Bertha introductions to the golf world.
Shown in the photo is the Flip Face #5 model. This is a rounded mallet with a single-bend shaft and full-shaft offset.
This new putter, available in three different models (Odyssey #1, 5 and 9), has two face plate options to choose from - the Metal X insert and the more traditional White Ice. You can switch them by literally pulling the toe and heel apart, and flipping the face over in less than 30 seconds --- there is only one removable screw; the rest of the putter head is fully-contained.
Why switch the face? Simply because you can, depending on the speed of the green, adjust your feel and performance of the putter to your liking or course conditions.

As to the White Ice Insert: This is a Multi-layer insert that has been fine-tuned to enhance responsiveness, sound, resiliency and consistency. Here the inner core enhances the feel and resiliency which in turn leads to consistent distance control. Face surface has been roughened to enhance the sound at impact with softer golf balls and increase friction to promote forward roll.
The Satin Chrome Finish provides a premium, elegant and beautiful look that is favoured by Tour players.
With regard to the Metal-X Insert: This lightweight aluminium outer layer utilizes oval depressions to maximize the Coefficient of Friction, which helps quickly generate straighter topspin for reduced skidding and the truest roll in the game. The Urethane inner layer provides soft feel and saves weight to optimize performance.
The Odyssey Metal-X putters have metal face inserts, but over a urethane backing layer. Odyssey touts the result as crisp but softer than a fully metallic putter face. Our testing group concurred and really enjoyed testing the Metal-X putters.
Odyssey Metal X 1 PutterThe highly responsive aluminum metal face insert, is textured in a manner that Odyssey says creates greater friction between putter face and ball, which should help increase topspin and reduce skidding. The urethane layer also saves precious grams of weight, which helps in optimizing the weighting properties of the entire club head.
The Metal-X putters' midnight black finish helps reduce glare. The core models are labeled  #1, 6, 7, 8, 9 and Rossie, priced at $149 each. The DART and 2-Ball models cost $179 . For an extra $10, a golfer can choose DART or No. 7 Metal-X models in belly or long putters; or the No. 1 in a belly model.
Devotees of the Metal X putters are Tour playersKevin Streelman, Stuart Appleby (Metal-X #7 Belly), Tommy Gainey (Metal-X #1), J.B. Holmes (Metal-X #7), Troy Kelly (Metal-X #7), Derek Lamely (Metal-X #1) and John Rollins (Metal-X #1) are also using the new putters.

David Whitlam Putters
Cut from the same cloth as David Edel, Scotty Cameron, Bobby Bettinardi and Kia Ma, David Whitlam is another master craftsman and putter designer/maker extraordininaire!
Whitlam putters are a blend of yesterday's most popular models and today's technology.  All putters are CNC milled in America from a solid billet of 303 stainless steel and mild carbon steel. After milling, each putter goes through a 15 step finishing process that gives them their exquisite quality and beautiful finishes.
Whitlam's newest introduction is the Prototype Run - Dragon Series Brick Sole. The Dragon Series brick sole mill comes in heel shafted double bend and center shafted right hand and left hand. Made from 303 Stainless Steel, with a head weight of 350g. This run is limited to 100 pieces. Heads will come in silver, satin black and satin gold.
Beside the actual putter, the embroidered head covers are works of art themselves.

Our testing group saw this putter not only as a work of art and aesthetically pleasing, but were impressed by the feel of the putter and the confidence it imbued to the user. Their reaction to the price was rather interesting. Rolls Royce versus Chevy Camaro!

Nike Method Concept Putter
http://0.tqn.com/d/golf/1/0/g/U/1/nike-method-concept-putter.jpgAnother  contemporary work of art! The art is in the profound shape. The Nike Method Concept putter is a mid mallet putter that  has an eye catching look with its heavier, black back piece attached to its lighter, red face. Nike  claims the Method Concept's "radical shape has the appearance of a blade, yet plays like a mallet."
The clubface is made of lightweight aluminum and weighs only 90 grams. The body (the black semicircle piece) is made of heavier stainless steel and weighs 200 grams. This moves the  putter's center of gravity far back and low, and according to Nike, creates a "very high MOI-to-head ratio."
This innovative combination of these two sections results in a very high MOI-to-head ratio putter with a small mallet footprint. While the Nike Method Concept has a small mallet footprint, it provides the stability of the largest mallets in the game.
On further examination, Nike has taken the highly successful Method Core putter and beefed up its MOI (Moment of Inertia) for increased stability. ThePolymetal Groove Technology is the same used in other Method putters. This combination makes for smooth strokes and increased accuracy. The Polymetal Groove Technology provides for a faster forward roll at impact for increased accuracy. The polymer and aluminium grooves lessen impact vibrations and provide pure sound and feel.
Our testers, while taking a little time to get used to the Method Concept's aesthetics, raved about the feel and consistency of the roll. The Nike Method Concept putter is available in both right- and left-hand in standard lengths (32, 33 or 34 inches).
Belly Putter lengths are 41 and 43 inches, and is available  in right-hand only. $199.00.

Wilson Staff Vizor Belly Putter
Wilson's new Staff Vizor Belly Putter is another of the many new "extra length" putters to enter the market.
The Vizor  Belly Putter features a lightweight aluminum body combined with stainless steel perimeter weighting resulting in a high MOI (Moment of Inertia) for improved stability. The double bend shaft provides for a face balanced design.

The insert in the putter face, has a soft urethane face tailored to match the hardness of a golf ball, similar to that of the Odyssey putter, allowing for improved feel on the green.

The technology featured on the new Vizor Belly Putter allows a player to 'lock into' the perfect position. Just identify the line, set the putter on that line, then adjust until the eye 'locks' to the alignment aid. It takes the guess-work out of set up and promotes a repeatable putting stroke.

The Vizor is available in 43 inch-length, featuring a longer, body anchored belly design to assist with a more stable stroke that will lower scores through improved roll and alignment.

BONUS:  The Best Training Aids that will lower your putts per round
The Ocular Putting Training Aid and Putting T-Bar
"Over 90% of players that come into our shop cannot aim their putter over the hole from 6-feet away” Channing Benjamin, Roger Dunn Golf Shops, CA.
Putter misalignment is the greatest disruption of a simple path to the golf ball!
Most golfers misalign their putter left or right of the cup from just 10 feet. Surprisingly, over 30% will misalign over 8" left or right of the cup from that same distance. The result? Misalignment creates compensating motion in the putting stroke.
http://www.wrightputtingdynamics.com/images/2d3065e059bb59421bf4703a3d0e49b0.jpgIf you really want to improve your putting prowess and lower your putts per round, you should definitely do as 300 PGA Pros do - get on board with Rick Wright's two marvelous results- producing putting training aids,  - The Laser Optics Alignment Light is the most effective tool used to help detect, correct, and monitor putter alignment .
Sound putting begins with accurate alignment. To use this  training aid, have your teacher or golf club fitter use the Laser Optics Alignment Light and Target Backboard to check your alignment.
Rick Wright began his career in the golf industry back in 1993 when he became part owner of Kurr Golf Technology, a small putter manufacturer he started with Kirk Currie. For the next three years the company served as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) of milled putters for the Ben Hogan Company, Lynx Golf Company, and Bridgestone Sports, USA.
In 1998, working closely with Mike Shannon, then head golf professional at Isleworth CC, Wright and Currie developed the Ocular Laser Alignment System. This simple, but clever laser, allowed golf professionals to build a putter to compliment putter alignment. Alignment became the main premise of the system. Jack Nicklaus experienced the fitting process and put a custom made copper Slazenger putter in play on the PGA Tour for the next two years.
Over the past 15 years, Rick has advanced his knowledge in both putting instruction and custom putter fitting. In 2006, he developed a crude version of The Putting T-Bar. After numerous requests from students and other instructors wanting to teach with the device, the redesigned Putting T-Bar was eventually introduced to the golf industry in 2011.

The Putting T-Bar

http://www.shop.wrightputtingdynamics.com/images/forwardstroke.jpgThe putting stroke is a simple motion. The shoulders are connected to the arms, the arms connected to the hands, the hands connected to the putter. Your shoulders, specifically your shoulder plane, will dictate the path of your putter. The Putting T-Bar is the only complete and effective aid used to train all elements of the putting stroke, including the shoulder plane.
The Putting T-Bar is simple in design, but very complex in its objectives. The T-Bar effectively teaches and trains all of the elements of today’s simple and efficient putting stroke, including:

  • The Proper Setup to Your Putt Line
  • A Rhythmic and Connected Motion of the Shoulders, Arms, Hands, & Putter
  • The Ideal Shoulder Plane and Putter Path
  • Solid Impact and Consistent Roll

The Putting T-Bar ensures you will consistently train the proper and efficient motion.
To improve one's putting ability, ,  a golfer needs to understand what type of putter she/he is, get laser tested for their basic ability and get fitted for a putter that matches their style and posture AND  most importantly, develop a consistent practice routine.
The Putting T-Bar $99.00        Laser Optics Putter Alignment System $179.00

South Africa = World Cup Fever 2010

If so, and you enjoy world class hotels, lodges and adventures throughout South Africa, there is a one-stop, high end hospitality organization that you can entrust with all your whims and desires. One of the founders in 2004 of this organization, Jack Brotherton, personifies a “man for all seasons”. Not only does he pilot both a helicopter and airplane, but his personality is infectious, he is passionate about Africa and he always makes the time to meet you and make you feel you are the most important person in the room.

His Seasons in Africa Group has to be considered one of the world’s top eco system devotee and hospitality organizations. His Elephant Whispers property is a must see (visit the web site for details) and works in close partnership with EFAF (Elephants for Africa Forever).

Seriously, instead of spending hours and hours trying to get around and figure out what to see and where to stay, Seasons in Africa has probably the best accommodations, best service and best venues anywhere in South Africa.

After arriving in Johannesburg, South Africa’s primary entry gateway, after an extremely long flight from the USA, head for #1 Melrose Boulevard to accommodations that are superb in every respect. Personal service and ambience are just two benefits that are ubiquitous, better than any of the city’s top 5 star hotels!

Having problems with your swing? - Fix your slice! by Johnny Miller

I recently was examining swing sequences of some of the greatest players in history. Knowing that some of these players favored a draw as their standard shot while others preferred a fade, I sought to identify swing features within each group that would explain their respective ball-flight tendencies. Something profound emerged that I think will benefit all golfers, especially those cursed with a wicked slice.

What I found was this: Virtually every accomplished fader of the ball--from Jack Nicklaus to Tiger Woods--displayed a straight left arm at the top of the backswing. Conversely, those who preferred a draw--players like Arnold Palmer and Bobby Jones--maintained a slight bend at the elbow.

This discovery is great news for most slicers, as they tend to do by accident what intentional faders do on purpose. In this article I'll explain why the dynamic works, and how a simple swing change will make a powerful draw your standard shot.
