Why life insurance is a must for any serious person
If you will allow me to be perfectly frank with you, I am in a state of mild shock because of the very fact that I have to write this blog. I thought every serious person who loves their family will be quick to get life insurance, but that apparently isn’t the case. It turns out many people are not even thinking about getting life insurance because they find the idea intimidating or because they don’t want to pay the premium in this economy. And while I do understand some of the concerns, I will try and use this blog post to talk about why life insurance is truly important and why you should change your mind, assuming you didn’t want it until now.
First, I want to talk about the irrational fear of death. Yes, most of us do have it, and it’s perfectly clear why. One cannot even imagine time going on without her or him present… and what happens after we die? Nobody can ever tell, which is why it is so scary. But none of that has anything to with life insurance, really. Many think that, if they start paying for life insurance, it means they should die soon. That is irrational nonsense, and you know it. Just because you’re paying a monthly premium doesn’t mean you are required to go six feet under next year, or decade, or in 20 years. It simply means you are depositing some money so your family could receive a generous payoff once you are going. Just because there is a contract involved doesn’t mean you will die nor will it speed your death up in any way, obviously. This fear is primal and irrational and you should shake it off for the sake of your family.
Then we should discuss the premium itself. Many people nowadays complain they don’t want to pay the premium because the economy is weak, the salaries are low, and they simply cannot afford another monthly expense. While this does make some sense, I urge you to think about the benefits of life insurance. Nobody says anything will happen to you any time soon, but what if it does? What if you are gone and your family is left with nothing? What if your son cannot afford the wedding he always wanted, what if your kids and grandkids can’t pay for school?
This is too big a risk to take, so one should definitely consider getting life insurance. Finally, if you still have doubts and don’t like paying the monthly premium, think of it as an investment. If you are a smoker, quit smoking and pay the premium. If you enjoy whiskey every now and then, stop drinking and pay the premium. This way you’re not just paying the premium, but are also doing something good for yourself. See, all this is a lot easier than you think and life insurance will definitely secure your family for generations once you’re not there to take care of them.
How to find the best life insurance company
To be perfectly honest, talking about life insurance isn’t easy for most people. The very idea seems so distant and baffling and nobody feels comfortable thinking about something that will depend entirely on their death. But you will also agree that this is a somewhat irrational way of thinking. [...] Continue Reading…
