Shimmer Lights? I LOVE that stuff, even though it fry's my hair even more than it already is.

Yeah, it was a lot blonder. I'm just transitioning from dark to blonde again. It was really white for a long time.

Go to sally's and buy a lightening powder - get a bottle of 30 volume developer, alsobuy a toner and a bottle of 20 volume developer ( I use Clairol Creme in the color Towhead) Mix the powder and developer together and mix enough to where you have amedium mixture not too runny and not too thick. If you're only doing roots then part your hair in different sections and apply the mixture...you dont have to use foil to do roots. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and it should have gotten to a yellow blondish color, rinse your hair and condition it and rinse that, towel dry it and mix the toner and developer together in a bottle... the toner comes in 2 oz bottles and you need to mix 2 ounces of developer with it and apply it to towel dried hair, on your roots. Wait around 5-10 minutes or when you see the color changing to the color you want and then rinse and wash it out. You can wash ur hair with a blue based shampoo like Shimmering Lights about 2 times a week to keep it from going back brassy. You can do these instructions to dye your whole head too , but im sure you'll need more than one pack of powder and more than 1 bottle of toner.

Hope this helped and maybe I answered your question right.

PERFECTLY!!! My friend told me to use quick blue bleach and 40 developer though, I should use 30 instead?

No you will use the 40 developer for the bleach powder.

Use the 20 Volume for the toner...you will need a toner to take the orange/brassy out. this is exactly what you need, I'm going to tell you as if you are doing your roots okay?

1 Pack of bleaching powder
8 oz bottle of Salon Care 40 volume developer (white bottle)
A coloring brush to brush it on ur roots
1-2 bottles of Clairol Creme Toner (Towhead is a pretty color so is white beige)
1 8oz bottle of ION 20 volume developer (purple bottle)
a pair of gloves
2 packs of .99 cent ION conditioner

and follow the timing instructions that I gave you and it should turn out beautifully.

I have more brown underneath than these right now.
yeah my underneath in dark, but dyed. I would like more blonde down there, but I am too scared to do that, so one step at a time, haha...

yeah i would get it the blonde you want it first then in a couple of weeks and have someone help you to seperate it. its going to be tricky but you've got to pin all the blonde up then keep down the extra brown that you want blonde and tie up the brown that you dont want blonde so you dont bleach it. lol its complicated but it can be easy if you have someone watching you do it. Then you'd have to brush the bleach on that part and have somebody watch and time it for u too ..I would probably go get that done... professionally.
