Lol...WTF is going on???

Britain wins silver, Ukraine bronze...then the butthurt Jap goes to the judges and b*tches and all of a sudden Japs get the silver, Brits bronze and Ukraine get's shafted.

I'm flabbergasted at some of the BS that goes on in these gymnastics events. First Weiber get's held out of the womens all around finals cause of some BS rule, now we got countries buying medals.

Britain, you're doing Olympics wrong.

Maybe if you listened to what the guy was saying as to why he had money, you'd understand why the money was needed and not look like a dumbfuk.

It looked hilarious at first with the guy holding up the cash and the form to the judges, even though they explained about the payment.

I thought it was wrong as fuk.

Unfortunately that's the politics of Gymnastics.

Lol...I know about the f*cking payment to protest it numbnuts. I'm sure there were a few extra bills in that stack, nomsayin? Showed it on the replay afterwards and it was too close to call, sorta like a football review that shouldn't get overturned cause there isn't irrefutable evidence. Britain and Ukraine got screwed.

Their gymnast ****ed up his dismount and the judges originally deemed it as a fall instead of a dismount so Japan challenged it and they overturned the score which bumped them from 4th to 2nd. At least that's what I got out of it.

The whole buying it had to do with money actually exchanging hands in order for them to review it which apparently is a legit thing.

The men's team finals were scored China (gold), GB (silver), Ukraine (bronze). Japan dropped out of the medals because on the last event, the guy screwed up the landing on the pommel horse and the score was bad enough to put them back to 4th. The Japanese coach later went over to the judges table with a scoring protest form and a stack of cash in his other hand. The commentator explained that there's a fee to file a protest and if it's upheld, you get your payment back and that it wasn't anything shady.

The judges came back like 10 minutes later and adjusted the Japanese guy's score which put them from 4th back into 2nd which then moved GB down to 3rd and Ukraine out of the medals after thinking they won a bronze.

Japan deserved it.

But this seems like a bad idea to begin with. Even if the overturn was completely just and the correct ruling.


Maybe someone can explain more in detail the procedure, but the exchange of money in order to challenge seems like a questionable practice, even for the sake of appearance. Let them challenge it on the merits alone without needing to pay for an overruling.

The commentator will explain it when you see it on TV. The reason it looks shady is because he's reaching his arm up to the judges with cash in his hand. Should make it a check or handle it behind the scenes so it doesn't look so blatant. Don't really get the point of it like you say though. It's not like it's a procedure that takes man hours and time and the money would go to covering expenses. It takes them 10 minutes to review the tape.

As other have said, it just looks fishy since it has to be done there on the spot, and has to be in cash. So everyone sees what's going on, and with results like tonight, it looks like they are buying their win.
