8:12

Ding, ding, ding.

It’s 8.12am here in London. Start ringing those bells for 3 minutes to welcome the Games!

7:57

Wherever you are, get your bells ready for 8.12am to join Big Ben to welcome the London 2012 Games.

Bells across the country will be rung as quickly and as loudly as possible for three minutes for 'All the bells' by Turner Prize-winning artist and musician Martin Creed.

The whole country will be celebrating!

6:54

The Olympic Flame has just begun the final leg of its journey after 69 days on the road. It's been seen by over 14 million people and has travelled the length and breadth of the UK.

Today its going to head down the River Thames before making its entrance at the Opening Ceremony. You can watch it live throughout the day here: http://l2012.cm/KmVsYR

5:34

The sun is rising over London and the day of the Opening Ceremony is finally here.

The Olympic Stadium isn't the only venue that will see action during Friday though, as Archery starts today at Lord's Cricket Ground. Each athlete will be shooting 72 arrows to determine their seedings in both the Team and Individual competitions before heading into the elimination rounds.

4:31

With the Opening Ceremony rapidly approaching, we hope you're as excited about the Games as ten-time Olympic medallist Carl Lewis is!

In a matter of hours the world will stop and all eyes will be on London, according to Olympic legend Carl Lewis.
