This is just a large size sticky roller, like the one you use to get lint off of clothes. It is very useful in some places, and gets more things off the tile floor than you ever thought were there, even after the floor has been swabed. I do not know how it wouold do on a carpet, perhaps not as good as a vacuum. My dog gets on my bed during the days, and it takes the hair off the sheets in seconds.
On a tile floor one must "pre swipe" it over a rug or bed, because the adhesive is so good that it sticks to the floor and has to be scraped off (Ungh!) The roller is held by a press apart plastic U shape holder which is very fragile and easily broken. The refills are a bit expensive for throwaways, but I think it is workth it.

If you have a dog who won't stay off the couch this could be your answer... It's like a giant lint brush, but it covers much more territory in a shorter time. Great for those emergency moments when guests are coming over and you don't have time to haul out the old vacuum. Less embarrassing then handing them a lint brush on the way out. My cleaning lady loved it and will be getting her own personal Lola Rola for Christmas. I recommend you order refills at the same time you order the sticky mop so you have plenty on hand. Geez I sound like an infomercial, but I looked all over for refills at various hardware and dept. stores after I initially discovered the Lola Rola and was delighted to see them on Amazon.

We don't have pets but we have humans and the hair they shed was just not coming up with the vacuum. I started searching the internet to see if there was a vacuum cleaner that also had a lint roller built in (why has no one invented this?) and stumbled across this gadget. It has been absolutely perfect. It was grotesque how much hair came up off the carpet the first time I used it and I had to use 6 or 7 roller sheets before it appeared I had all the hair off the floor of just the dining room. But it was well worth the time and effort.
The only criticism I have is that the rolls of sticky sheets seem like they could contain more sheets than they do. They run out rather quickly if you ask me. Also, I will offer just this one piece of advice -- vacuum prior to using this device. If you use this on an unvacuumed floor, you'll pick up too much lint and whatnot that the vacuum could have gotten. And that'll make your sticky roller sheets get covered in crud before they otherwise would, and you'll wind up running thru the sheets more quickly than you should.
