Obviously no one ever told this beetle that he must smile as hard as he can.
Dr Yamashita should have told him.

This is the Spring/Summer growing season in the North Continent, my home is in Northern Michigan an area known as the Cherry Capital. In the past, homes were not built with air conditions, and people spent their summers here because of the cooler climate. We have vineyards that were established in the mid to late 1800′s. Our temperatures have risen 8 degrees above normal in the past two decades, we are in a different planting zone and the fruits that have grown here are at risk of being impossible to grow. Add to that the drought conditions.

School children in Minnesota have been helping research the mutation in frogs for decades. But it has been the deformation of plants that have come to my attention. When the dandelions bloomed, they were mutated into clusters of twos and threes. In my flower garden, some perennials were mutated the same way. The fruits, that have been the base of the economy, have shown some mutations. I have seen photos of mutated plants from Ontario Province, Canada, which is further East. I would say that we are witnessing the beginnings of our new toxic world.

I have seen videos of the horror of human deformities from Chernobyl, the babies born with growths and mutated bodies. They are difficult and heartbreaking to view. I wonder if they were presented to the global community if there would be an impact; although, I am sure that it would be considered to be sensationalism by the people who want to consider expanding nuclear usage. However, if the demonstrators in Japan would use those photos on their signs along with the written denouncement of the nuclear industry, how could any realistic person not understand our danger?
