Australia Jobs Surge

SYDNEY -- Australia's economy created a further 24,500 jobs in October, sending a strong signal to the Reserve Bank of Australia to continue raising interest rates at its Dec. 1 policy meeting.

The additional jobs build on the 39,800 positions created in September and indicate that the economy is close to seeing a peak in unemployment, economists said.
