Two former UFC champions have been signed to fight at OneFC 5 in Manilla, as reported by BloodyElbow.com.

Andrei Arlovski, the Belarusian fighter who has competed at the top levels of MMA will fight a to be named opponent.  Arlovski is making an attempt to revive his career following three losses to some of the best competition in the heavyweight division.  Arlovski has been fighting with the ProElite organization and has successfully put together a two fight win streak.  The former champ was implementing a perfect game plan against Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction 2 before falling to a wicked punch that flattened the fighter.  This will be Arlovski's return to a major promotion following his dismissal from the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.

Jens Pulver, a former UFC lightweight champ has also been attempting to revive his career.  Following a brilliant fight with Urijah Faber, Pulver has never looked the same.  A wrestler, Pulver will possibly have an advantage over his opponent (yet to be named) if he is matched with an Asian.  Pulver has fought some of the stiffest competition in MMA history, names such as Takanori Gomi, BJ Penn, Urijah Faber, and other decorated fighters.

OneFC's next event will take place August 31st in the Philippines and will be the biggest OneFC event to date.  An expected 16,000 fans are expected to attend, making the turnout larger than that of Ali vs Frazier's, "The Thrilla in Manilla".

From MMARecap.com

It is typical in our world, when you are accused of something you ridicule your accuser to no end and hope you did such a great job that they shut up.  MAXFIGHT, the Bulgarian promotion that has been accused of fixing, is doing just that.  They released a statement today claiming their fighter, one Lyubo Simeonov was suffering from injuries, banged up and only at 30% of his capabilities.  Of course we find this one a far stretch, but anything is possible.

The fact of the matter is, you have a small promotion, likely run by a bunch of cronies, that tried to fix a fight against a fighter who has fought in the top promotions in the world.  While the story is something out of a movie, it seems that by the wording of this press release and the stance MAXFIGHT is taking, that Sims has some credibility here.

Here's their statement:

The MAXFIGHT Company is the biggest promoter on the Balkan Peninsula. There are 27 tournaments organized so far by the MAXFIGHT promotion. Fighters from all over the world have participated in our tournaments. The refereeing has always been and always will be objective and independent.

With reference to the lies written by Wes Sims and Mike, I would like to present the opinion of the head referee Plamen Petrov, as well as the original video, which clearly shows how Sims taps his hand and gives up. Plamen Petrov is the best Bulgarian referee. He was invited as a referee in the Indian promotion SFL.

It was unworthy of Wes Sims to write all those lies. His tasks were to go against Lyubo Simeonov and fight. But this so called fighter Sims couldn’t do anything and now he is looking for a reason to exonerate himself.

Simeonov was prevented from practicing 10 days before the tournament, and the physical and mental condition he was in the day of the fight caused him to use 30% of his abilities. No one is to blame that Sims could not beat his opponent who was barely standing on his feet, but found the way to achieve victory. With reference to Sims’s writings that there were arrangements made during the fight for euro 20000 – how could the fight be arranged and Wes Sims wouldn’t know anything about it?

This guy should focus on practicing and not on talking and excuses.

Yordan Petkov, Executive Director of MAXFIGHT

Here is the opinion of the head referee Plamen Petrov:

With reference to the lies written by wes (I am not using a capital letter on purpose), I would like to share my views as the head referee of this fight. Wes had intentionally provided a video, which shows how Lyubo breaks his leg while locking him with heel hook. We will show you a video which shows wes’s reaction, his tapping his hand on the ring, and his swollen ankle.

Mr. Ken Pavia, who was at the gala and whose objective opinion can be trusted, saw it himself. Sims himself had thanked me several times for the good refereeing and adequate reactions, when I did not stop the fight while Lyubo was applying armbar on him.

Yes, Lyubo was tired, and yes, Lyubo was not ready emotionally and mentally. BUT he managed to pull himself together and locked the experienced American, who had disgraced himself before the audience after making so many threats before the fight.

As a referee I have in no way robbed either athlete, deliberately or not, and this can be seen in the video. Yes, Lyubo caught the rope while sims was trying to catch it, but it was only for a second, and before I managed to react they were already on the floor. And as we saw later, it was not vital for the situation. It is clear that wes cannot be successful elsewhere besides in amateur fights, and that he is trying, through his protégé Mike, to arouse pity and to slander the biggest MMA organization on the Balkan Peninsula.

Tomorrow will be send video file.

Wow...that is all we can say.  A user on the Underground released this gem today and god only knows how he got it.  One of the most secretive and elite fighters in the history of the sport has had his contract leaked for the world to read.  One of the biggest things is in the very beginning where it states that M-1 Global paid Fedor a $1.5 million signing bonus for entering into an agreement with the company.   Furthermore, the contract is binding on US soil, thus having a huge bearing on what Fedor did in the USA.  Some fighters do tend to jump around when having contracts signed overseas.

It also has a place in there for a potential fight with a UFC champion in which Fedor would have been paid FIVE MILLION dollars.  Needless to say, Fedor is a multi millionaire.

We consider this a pretty huge thing.  Fedor is such a secretive man and so little is known about his business dealings that it is quite a surprise that this got out.  We almost wonder if it has something to do with the recent hax0ring of M-1Global.com.

None the less, the contract
