Why consider a life insurance early in your life

July 9, 2012

As someone who is in his mid-twenties, when I was first approached by an idea of getting myself a life insurance by my family I didn’t really want to do it because it would make a dent, no matter how relatively small one, in my monthly spending money – the economy isn’t doing too great and I didn’t want to strain my monthly fees any further, I was able to avoid getting into debt or into any kind of deal with a bank so far and I wanted to keep it that way. But after a bit of thinking, I decided that getting a life insurance is not really such a bad idea even for a 25 year old like me, and here are some of the reasons why I decided to get such an early insurance policy.

Better rates:

This is pretty much self evident. Your basic life insurance takes into account things like life expectancy and health (especially if you’re getting some sort of a life insurance that is bundled with basic or advanced health insurance) and you will pay less and get more – always a good deal. Look at the insurance companies that have good reputation for sound investment and see just what kind of rates are they offering to the students or your age group overall when compared to senior insurance policies – the differences are huge. Start with your insurance policy on time and you’ll get much better results for less money.

Pension funds are failing:

This is a phenomenon that is happening all over the world, but never is this more obvious than in the United States of America. A huge bureaucracy encumbered Social Security system has been running at a loss for quite some time now and by the time the generation that is getting out of college and that is entering the work force now (if they CAN find work in the first place) are most likely not going to see their pensions like the so called “baby boomer” generation did, and their pensions, if they even manage to claim them, will be so thinned down by inflation and by austerity cuts that they will not provide them with a comfortable living after retirement. A good life insurance deal is a way to get ahead of the game and make sure you’ve got some sum to fall back on during hard times.

You’ll get help from your family:

When a 40 year old person is looking to start paying for life insurance, you can make a safe bet that he’ll be doing that all on his own, but when a relatively young person starts getting interested in that there will always be some help from the family – parents, grandparents, uncles and so on will offer to cover some of the monthly fees if you talk to them about it – which is a fine way for you to get some monetary security with the help of the family without having to damage your personal funds all to much.
