This week seemed to be full of videos that kept the sharing going via our Social Networks, 2 of the 4 particular being parodies, and who doesn’t love a parody when it is done right? The following videos caught our eye and made for a fun Social Media week, therefore in case you missed them, we would like to pass the fun onto you.
Which of the 4 videos is your favorite?
I’m Farming and I Grow It (Parody)
This video is a shout out to all of our Farmers out there who provide us food. These three brothers decided to make a parody of the infamous LMFAO song, “I’m Sexy and I Know It”, we particularly enjoy the part where they sing “we work out-side”.
The world we live in and how we conduct our lives both socially and financially is pretty much wrapped up in little machines that we turn on everyday to read and scan data.
20 years ago this wasn’t the case… sure, there were computers, but they served a purpose. They printed invoices and kept a list of our business contacts. They even sorted data and kept track of sales. Now, they are our lifeline – or at least something that has become an important part of our daily lives.
Sociologists such as Anthony Giddens, and Alain Touraine describe the social activities we engage in on Facebook and other social network sites as “an important part of a necessary strategy to feel safe and sustained and understood in our daily lives.” They go on to describe that we, as humans strive to maintain stable self-identities.
Social sites help us to do this. Giddens’ wrote an entire book on the subject, titled: ‘Modernity and Self-Identity‘ which solidifies the belief that the human minds wants to create order and have control over our environment.
Wondering what to do with your QR Code?
The best way to market yourself or your business is by word of mouth, as it has always been, but with a splash of 2.0.
Every business needs to find a solution to share their brand in a quick and easy way, the way the world likes things done today. A QR code is just what you need to help spread your brand and online source, like your website.
Many businesses have been misusing their QR codes by placing them on their websites, when its intentions are to get people offline to join you online or from one destination to the next. The QR code can serve many purposes and can be great for a promotion that you are currently running, a contest, or to simply use it for branding purposes.
Suddenly, Facebook Page owners are upset about the newly added recommendations box, thinking that this will increase negative sentiment, this is in fact false.
Your Facebook Page is already public, which means that anyone can view it. Yes, you can now change the setting to only allow people who are on the Facebook Platform to see your page but that only limits you and prevents the true Marketing reach you’re looking to gain.
The recommendations box will allow you to have a better eye on what is being said about your business or brand, as long as the people who share the recommendations make it public. The reality is that it just gives people the ability to post somewhere other than your wall, ah yes, your wall, this too is a spot that people can write about you, positively or negatively which is the same as recommendations.
