Xanax helps you overcome anxiety
The times we are living are turbulent. And even without all the constant stress and pressure exacerbated by our schools, jobs, and other chores, many, many people frequently feel anxious. Anxiety is, unfortunately, a common psychological occurrence, in which a person more or less frequently experiences the feeling of tension, helplessness and fear. Anxiety commonly manifests itself through panic attacks, episodes of fear so strong they evoke physiological reactions in people. If we tell you that almost everyone has had a panic attack at least once or twice in their lifetime, you might be shocked, but once you realize anxiety is a normal reaction to a stressor, or something that causes stress, then it all makes a lot more sense, doesn’t it?
All in all, if consistent, anxiety is horrible and frequently dangerous, as it can produce symptoms such as excessive and ongoing worry and tension, restlessness, difficulty concentration, and an array of parasomnias (sleeping disorders). And these are just the milder symptoms. For people who have seen the doctor about this issue and who have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, even worse symptoms, such as a constant fear of dying or going insane, can occur.
All these symptoms undoubtedly have a debilitating effect on one’s life. People are excluded, or exclude themselves from their communities, and from then on things only get worse.
Fortunately, with effective medication having been developed, people don’t have to worry about their mental and physical health due to an onset of anxiety. Many drugs are used today for the treatment of this condition, and one of the most popular is Xanax, or Alprazolam, which is its generic name. Xanax is the most prescribed anti-anxiety drug in the US market, mostly due to its incredible efficacy. It is a short-acting anxiolytic, government-approved and ideal for subsiding a panic attack, since about 90 per cent of its peak benefits are achieved within an hour after you take it.
There is no reported tolerance to its anxiolytic effect, but some tolerance can be developed to its sedative effect. Xanax is a prescription-only drug and you should consult your physician and your psychiatrist prior to taking it. As with all other drugs used to treat mental health conditions, Xanax is not to be toyed with and it is strongly recommended that your physician periodically reassesses the effect of the drug. Some groups of people are not supposed to use Xanax, for example pregnant women. Xanax is a benzodiazepine, and as such, could harm the fetus, as it can be absorbed in the placenta and breast milk.
Like most benzodiazepines, Xanax has some side effects. Allergic reactions are extremely rare, with the only frequent side effect being tiredness upon the initiation of the treatment. Some other side effects may include changes in libido, ataxia, slurred speech, skin rash, fatigue and concentration problems.
Xanax is one of the most effective drugs on the market but, like most medications, should be used only with constant supervision from your doctor.
