[1/7 02:16 GMT] <winteam> @LelouchxXxCC: Chitose Get You!! |
[1/7 02:15 GMT] <MegumiTenshi> I'd really appreciate it. ='D |
[1/7 02:15 GMT] <MegumiTenshi> Please help seed "[Raws-4U] Tegami Bachi REVERSE (TX 1280x720 H.264 AAC Chap) [Subbed]"... |
[1/7 02:14 GMT] <()blivion> @mascthemoney: Whose pretending? LOL. no... I don't actually care about any of this garbage. I'm just killing time. Anime doesn't matter, nyaa doesn't matter, none of this crap matters. I just figure sub groups COULD do what I said, and that it would be neat if they did. But I'm not trying to change anything. *I* don't care. |
[1/7 02:13 GMT] <LelouchxXxCC> Need suggestions: what good Summer anime to watch ? |
[1/7 02:12 GMT] <winteam> ERES UN PUTO <--- What means this? That's Spanish, right? |
[1/7 02:12 GMT] <Tennouji> So, have anyone proven any point to anyone they don't even know? That's profit~! |
[1/7 01:41 GMT] <Jugem-Jugem> Platinum Disco is supposed to be bundled with the volume 4 blu-rays, but damn that's not until the 25th |
[1/7 01:19 GMT] <espilcee> probably when the tsukihi phoenix arc blu rays are released, but hopefully sooner. |
[1/7 01:11 GMT] <mascthemoney> Btw, when does Platinum Disco get released? |
[1/7 01:09 GMT] <mascthemoney> NOOBTIP: Pretend you have a Ph.D. in anime. Brilliance. Do it with me! |
[1/7 00:59 GMT] <Nyaa> PROTIP: Silence. |
[1/7 00:05 GMT] <Krudda> hmm, spelling this morning is brilliant. could've sworn I pressed enter before I proof read what I wrote |
[1/7 00:04 GMT] <Krudda> could'vd fooled me |
[30/6 23:49 GMT] <Yuyu> what a surprise. |
[30/6 23:47 GMT] <lighter235> This chat is full of weeaboos. |
[30/6 23:28 GMT] <()blivion> TL;DR I get, But what exactly is wrong with what I said? |
[30/6 23:27 GMT] <()blivion> @Nyaa: .... talking about me? |
[30/6 23:10 GMT] <Krudda> I was comparing them. Makes sense to do it doesn't it? How else could I compare? :3 |
[30/6 23:09 GMT] <espilcee> If you don't like it, then don't watch it.......... why would you watch an episode 4 times... or for that matter why would you watch hadena? |
[30/6 23:06 GMT] <mascthemoney> lol oh god, you downloaded hadena.... |
[30/6 22:42 GMT] <Nyaa> TL;DR People that don't know what they're talking about. |
[30/6 22:25 GMT] <Krudda> I have this posted on my baka profile >> What I have seen so far is that: UTW appears to be blurry, Hadena has random episodes that are blocky, Whatstory is bloated, Commie has script errors |
[30/6 22:24 GMT] <Krudda> UTW is overrated. comparing them to commie, hadena and whatstory, I found UTW to be blurry, yes blurry (talking about accel world) |
[30/6 22:22 GMT] <()blivion> @Krudda: The commie senpai to Snow Black thing bothered me a bit too. @Jugem-Jugem: UTW did two tracks, one with and one without honorifics. @ReDone-Subs: Yeah your right. I'm using the term here to (very) loosely to differentiate between translating the meaning vs having the words directly converted to English, but none of the order and meaning being correct.... IE "urusai" being converted to "noisy" or "It's too loud" instead of the usual meaning "shut up"(and senpai vs name). Also, It would effectively be "Yoda speak" vs normal translation. This really drives home that English is backwards from most other languages. |
[30/6 22:02 GMT] <KuroiTsuki> UTW! |
[30/6 22:02 GMT] <Krudda> for example "sempai" was replaced with "Snow Black"... way too localized for me. |
[30/6 22:00 GMT] <Krudda> I wasn't talking about bad translation, I meant it was translated with words missing and some things completely replaced. If anyone watched accel world by commie, you'd understand immediately. I almost couldn't watch it for the errors. |
[30/6 20:52 GMT] <ReDone-Subs> @()blivion: Options (2) romaji and (3) transliteration are the same thing. |
[30/6 20:31 GMT] <Jugem-Jugem> If I remember correctly, UTW also put both localized and un-localized subtitles on their release of iDOLM@STER |
[30/6 20:27 GMT] <DJATOM> @lighter235, @ravil: (: |
[30/6 20:13 GMT] <Tennouji> Some BD/DVD subbing groups put a few tracks too. At least that should do the trick (somehow). |
[30/6 20:05 GMT] <mascthemoney> @Oblivion, I think Frostii's 720p K-On! does that, or at least 1)Localized, 2)Un-Localized. |
[30/6 20:04 GMT] <mascthemoney> Eh... personally, I don't mind bad fansubs. I usually replace TV-source files with the BD-source ones later, and those groups get it right 99% of the time. At this point, I think most fans can understand what's going 50% of the time w/o subs. What's the point of raging at 3rd-party text that dances on the bottom of the screen? The real meat is in the center of the screen. |
[30/6 20:01 GMT] <()blivion> Asking anymore from most fan subbing groups is asking too much. But since subs tracks take no room in a file, I always wanted to see (1) A proper Japanese track (2) Romaji track (3) Transliteration track (4) "Standard" (westernized) Translation track, all in the same video. I don't want to say impossible, but yeah.... Like it will ever really happen. Mad props to any sub group that gave half a shit enough to do this though. But... unicorns. |
[30/6 19:13 GMT] <Yuyu> >chinese cartoons |
[30/6 18:48 GMT] <Tennouji> I have a preference on honorifics, but only on a certain level. I don't hate liberization though, since I learn some western puns/stuffs on those. |
[30/6 18:47 GMT] <KuroiTsuki> chinese cartoon tracker site -_- |
[30/6 18:37 GMT] <icecoffemix> @dilworks: you're saying that while idling on a chinese cartoon tracker site? really? |
[30/6 18:36 GMT] <icecoffemix> @mascthemoney: and because of that they're immune to critics, right. |
[30/6 16:57 GMT] <eraser> so, what happened to the 7 groups that were going to do sao? |
[30/6 16:48 GMT] <lighter235> and ravil is a big weeaboo, even when it goes to translations |
[30/6 16:31 GMT] <ravil> "official ghibli localization" is a piece of shit, they just do it half-heartedly. and lighter is just a fag =) |
[30/6 16:24 GMT] <mugen ni> except the 80% of the shows commie delivers on are also done by better groups. commie's only real advantage is they deliver on time whereas the better groups usually take their sweet time which is ok w/ me if it means a better translation and not americanized. |
[30/6 16:08 GMT] <OnDeed> it's hardly oniichanization if the shit is already in the original. Also, the sexual abuse is in those stupid series in the first place :P |
[30/6 16:03 GMT] <lighter235> > overlocalization - check official subs for ghibli movies, then you will understand what is real localization. |
[30/6 15:15 GMT] <dilworks> Oniichanized subs are evil, you know? I hate to death every goddamned fansub that sexually abuse honorifics and random weaboo untranslated terms. (On the flip side of the coin, CR subs are not that bad compared with the trainwreck of Nico Nico subs - you can have up to 5 flavors of Spanish IN THE SAME SCRIPT!? Consistency, bitches.) |
[30/6 15:10 GMT] <mascthemoney> Hey, at least they deliver like 80% of the shows worth watching. I don't pay a dime and they still do it, year after year. H'okay with me, I say. |
[30/6 15:02 GMT] <icecoffemix> I think their overlocalization is what the problem is, they come dangerously close to GG at times. |
[30/6 14:07 GMT] <espilcee> They use simulcast subs, which they edit and localize. If there are none, then they find a translator. Go blame the translators guess. |
