MANILA, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Two South Korean nationals were arrested for allegedly raping two Japanese women in Cebu City in central Philippines on Saturday, police confirmed on Monday.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Samuel D. Pagdilao, Jr. identified the suspects as Carl Park, 21 and Jong Duk Lee, 34.
The victims were identified as Miki Tsugi, 20 and Akari Endo, 20.
Regional CIDG head Jose Pante said the two victims personally appeared at the agency's office in Cebu to file complaints against the two South Koreans.
Park was arrested following a pursuit operation in a subdivision in Talamban, Cebu on Saturday. Lee was accosted while he was visiting Park at the CIDG detention cell on the same day.
The victims alleged that the suspects gave them beer spiked with a substance that made them dizzy before they were brought to a motel where they were raped.
The CIDG regional office said rape charges against Park and Lee have already been filed before the Lapu-Lapu City Prosecutor's Office.
